8 Tips To Easily Eliminate Dust In Your Home.

Having dust in your house is no fun!

And it looks as though we do the housework, it keeps coming back.

Dust is made up of all kinds of particles, including plant pollen, dead skin cells, and fibers from clothing and paper.

It just accumulates, and it's annoying, because it can wreak havoc on people with asthma or allergy sufferers.

dust mites how to get rid of them simply

To make matters worse, the dust contains mites. Disgusting isn't it?

Fortunately, here are 8 tips to easily remove dust from your home:

1. Change the sheets once a week

Dust mites love to nest in sheets, pillows and mattresses.

To combat dust mites in your bedding, you can wrap your mattress in a dust mite mattress protector like this one.

That, combined with a weekly bed wash should be enough to keep those critters and dust at bay.

2. Keep your cupboards tidy

Clothes stored in closets lose a lot of fiber.

Every time you open the closet door, they blow out tons of dust.

It is therefore best to store them in protective clothing covers or airtight plastic boxes.

If you do not have protective covers, we recommend these.

3. Don't leave a clutter on the floor

The piles of clothes, toys, magazines, books that remain on the ground are conducive to the accumulation of dust.

Even if you clean around these batteries it will not remove the dust that is on or below them.

So make room and don't leave anything lying around on the floor.

4. Say "no" to the carpet

A nice carpet in the house may be nice and pleasant, but it is a lot of maintenance.

And it is above all a nest for mites. Carpets and rugs should be vacuumed every day.

But even vacuuming every day, it may not be enough for people who are very sensitive to allergies.

If you really care about your carpet, consider investing in a vacuum with an anti-allergenic microfiber bag, which prevents dust from getting back into the air.

Otherwise, prefer parquet or tiles which are much easier to maintain and will not let dust mites settle in your home.

5. Shake the rugs and pillows outside

To get rid of dust effectively, rugs, pillows, blankets and quilts should be shaken outside (or at the window).

Otherwise you just move the dust around without eliminating it permanently.

Also remember to air out all the rooms in the house once a day for a few minutes.

6. Use a damp cloth to catch dust

The dusters only make the situation worse.

Existing dust is lifted up and redeposited elsewhere in your home.

Instead, use a damp cloth to wipe down your furniture and catch the dust.

All you have to do is run the cloth under water to say goodbye to the dust.

7. Clean from top to bottom

Clean higher surfaces first. For example, the shelves or the table.

Then continue down, so that you can capture all the dust that fell further down.

8. Use an air purifier

If you have severe allergies or asthma, an air purifier can be very beneficial, but it doesn't come cheap!

And that doesn't mean you have to stop dusting!

Purifiers filter out dust particles, but they can do nothing against dust mites (because they do not live in the air).

Be aware that to be effective, you will need a purifier for each room.
