How To Wash Strawberries To Keep Them Delicious?

It's strawberry season ! The country's first strawberries hit the shelves. So much the better, we love it.

There is an easy way to wash strawberries without damaging them.

Because, like mushrooms, strawberries are one of those foods that fill up with water.

If you are not careful how you wash them, you risk wasting some of them.

Discover my 2 secrets that allow them to be gently cleaned while preserving their delicious aroma.

Wash the strawberries with a splash of water

1. Never hull them before washing them

If you don't want to feel like you're eating a tasteless sponge, wash them under running water quickly, but especially without hulling them first.

Otherwise, the water will seep through the place where you pulled off the stalk and soak the strawberry in water.

2. Wash them in a dish rack and a stream of water.

To wash your strawberries quickly and well, the trick is to use a colander rather than a salad bowl. The water and residue will drain off faster and your strawberries will not be waterlogged.

This trick will allow you to better preserve their taste and will prevent you from adding sugar.

Simply water them with a little water while turning them over to remove any remaining residue. Don't forget to dry them gently with a tea towel or better still with a paper towel.

It's good, you can finally remove the stems and serve them as is, but also enjoy them in a fruit salad or even with cottage cheese ...

There is no shortage of ideas for strawberry desserts, I let you make your choice!
