tips for a free vegetable garden

1. Collect seeds from my vegetables and aromatic herbs

- I collect tomato seeds, varying the kinds (cherry tomatoes, beef hearts ...) of pepper, melon and also beans.

- I put them in the ground in pots with potting soil.

- I first bought my parsley and basil seeds and I grew them by planting them in the ground. It works ! So I don't missnever any aromatic herbs that I freeze as I go.

- As for the mint, I picked it from friends and planted it at home. I noticed that mint grows like weed! I have a full pot of it, obtained from a small branch put in the ground.

2. Plant the salad and cabbage stumps

The strains of salad, endives, cabbage and onions, collected during washing, are known to quickly give a new specimen. I couldn't miss it!

- When I cook, instead of throwing my stumps in the trash, I put them in a pot with soil.

- When the plants have grown (about 10 cm), I transfer them to salvage or DIY jars: I can thus personalize tin cans. A wine box or a plastic-lined pallet will also make a pretty planter. I can also make jars or suspensions with cinder blocks, books or old bottles.

4. I water for free thanks to my dishwater

By sprinkling with my dishwater (I only use a drop of dishwashing liquid) collected in a basin or the rinsing water of the vegetables when I cook, my plants cost me almost nothing, apart from the potting soil, that I enrich with my peelings and coffee grounds.
