13 Tips To Pay For Your Cinema Ticket Less Expensive.

I don't know about you, but I find that the price of cinema tickets is exorbitant.

The average price of a cinema ticket in France is 10,50 €.

Not to mention the popcorn or the sweets!

Fortunately, here are 13 tips to pay less for your cinema ticket:

Tips for paying for cheaper cinema tickets

1. Take an unlimited card

If you go to the cinema more than twice a month, it is a solution which can save you money.

At Gaumont-Pathé, the Solo Pass costs € 19.90 per month and the Duo Pass € 33.80. There is even a Pass at € 16.90 for children under 26.

For cinemas on the UGC and MK2 networks, the price of the unlimited UGC card is € 19.90 per month and € 33.90 for the unlimited UGC card 2.

The disadvantage of these 2 offers is that you have to pay in addition to the administrative fees to registration.

2. Buy tickets in batches

In most cinemas, it is possible to buy several seats at the same time to benefit from a reduced rate.

UGC 5 cards allow you to take advantage of a 6,40 €. As for Gaumont, you can lower the price of the place to 8,40 € if you buy 5 at the same time.

In the region, for example, you can buy this type of card in the rooms of the Kinepolis networks for 7,96 €.

Most independent theaters have the same kind of specials.

In any case, don't forget to check the expiration dates carefully. Generally, they are quite wide, between 3 months or a year, but it depends on the cinema.

3. Take advantage of the Fête du Cinéma and other special operations

During the 4 days of the Cinema Festival, the cinema place is at 3,50 €. The Cinema Festival takes place once a year around June and July.

As for the Printemps du Cinéma, it takes place the 3rd week of March for three days. The place is also at 3,50 €.

The only downside to these 2 special operations is that you have to pay a few euros more for 3D movies.

Also remember to take a look on the website of the National Federation of French Cinemas to keep up to date with the latest operations of the moment.

4. Take advantage of Gaumont-Pathé flash sales

Did you know that some sites sell cinema tickets at reduced prices ?

You can save up to 33% on your cinema tickets.

5. Also think of independent cinemas

If the prices at the big operators are too high, why not test the independent theaters?

The rates are often cheaper. They vary between 6 and 10 € for the normal rate.

Here are some examples of prices in Paris to show you that it is still cheaper:

- the Forum des Images offers places to 6,00 €.

- the Cinémathèque Française offers tickets for 7 €.

- the Brady offers places to 8,50 €.

If you're not very keen on a movie's release date and you're a movie fan, this option is for you.

6. Take advantage of the morning sessions

If you don't mind going to the movies in the morning, then this great plan is for you.

Morning sessions are much cheaper than in the evening: between 6 to 7 € according to the rooms. These offers are available between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at UGC and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at MK2 and Gaumont-Pathé.

7. Obtain information from your works council

If you are an employee in a company that has a works council, find out if there are reduced cinema tickets.

In general, you can save between 3 to 4 € on a ticket.

8. Take advantage of Orange Cinéday

Are you a subscriber to Orange? Thanks to Orange Cinéday, every Tuesday, enjoy a free place for a purchased place.

Nice to go to the cinema for two for cheap.

9. For children under 14

Very practical for going out with the family without breaking the bank or making your children happy.

10. For those under 26

Some cinemas offer reduced prices to those under 26. Check with your favorite theater to find out what the discount is.

For example, at the MK2 Bibliothèque in Paris the prices fall to 4,90 €.

11. For students

If you are a student, cinemas often offer reduced prices to pay for your cinema seat less.

You can hope between 1 to 2 € reduction depending on the room.

In any case, do not forget to present your student card at the entrance.

12. For the owners of the imagin R card

Did you know that the imagin R card also allows you to benefit from reduced fares without any limit?

For example, in the Gaumont-Pathé cinemas, the place is 7,80 € Monday to Sunday inclusive.

Again, don't forget to present your imagin R card at the cash desk.

13. Take advantage of the 3D offered

Are you a fan of 3D movies? So enjoy the 3D sessions at no extra charge every Sunday morning.

Many cinemas, such as Gaumont-Pathé cinemas, do not charge the supplement for 3D on Sundays before noon.

A saving of 3 € per viewer. Nice to go there as a family with the children.
