How To Dry Balls (And Dry Your Laundry Much Faster).

The tumble dryer is one of the appliances that uses the most electricity.

Fortunately, there is a very simple trick to lower your consumption.

The trick is to put dryer balls in your dryer.

Not only do these dryer balls replace fabric softener wipes ...

... but in addition they reduce the drying time of at least 20%.

Result, you save time and money! But no need to buy drying balls!

You can make them yourself with a simple ball of yarn. Look :

The DIY for making homemade woolen drying balls

What you need

- a ball of pure wool

- nylon stockings or old tights

- a large saucepan

- a needle

How to do

1. Wrap the wool around two fingers 10 to 20 times in a row.

2. Remove the wool from your fingers.

3. Now wind the wool in the center of your small ball.

4. Continue until you form a ball.

5. When the ball is finished, wedge the end of the wool by pushing it with the needle inside the ball.

6. Push the thread several times to prevent it from coming out.

7. Make 3 balls.

8. Put a first ball in the bottom foot.

Put the drying balls in a stocking

9. Tie a knot.

10. Repeat with the other balls and tie a knot between each ball.

11. Fill the pot with water.

12. Put the bottom there with the balls in it.

13. Boil for 45 min.

14. Remove the stocking and let it drain.

15. Dry the balls along with your towels in the dryer.

16. Remove the bottom balls: they are now all felted.

There you go, your drying balls are already ready to be used :-)

Easy, fast and economical, isn't it?

All you have to do is put the balls in your dryer when you want to dry clothes quickly.

You will see, your laundry will benefit from all the benefits of these anti-static and anti-crease drying balls.

Your laundry is now very soft, without static electricity and much less wrinkled!

In addition, these drying balls reduce the drying time at least 20%, which saves time and reduces the electricity bill!

Not to mention that it's a great way to recycle old stockings or damaged tights and finish used balls of wool.

Additional advice

- Make sure the bales are dry in step 15. If not, start a new drying cycle.

- You can use a pair of scissors to cut off the bottom and remove the balls.

- Do your homemade drying balls become less effective over time? Then just boil them again. They will quickly regain their efficiency to dry and soften the laundry again perfectly.

- So that your drying balls perfume your laundry in addition to making it very soft, you can put a few drops of essential oil on the balls. Why not lavender essential oil for example?

Why does it work?

The dryer balls will stir the laundry, lift it up and let hot air pass between the clothes.

They soften the fibers of the laundry and prevent pilling.

This allows clothes to dry faster than normal.
