How to take your BAFA for free? My Facilitator Tips.

Animation is an experience to live!

But first, you have to pass your BAFA and invest nearly € 800 with classic training ...

Actually no. Do you know that there are free solutions to get this degree?

Until I was 18, I used to go to summer camps almost every vacation. I loved it!

Later, I spent my BAFA to pass, me too, a holiday of phew to the children.

Already 25 stays to my credit in summer camps or leisure centers without accommodation (CLSH).

tips for taking your bafa for free

1. Free BAFA training

Update: Les Éclaireurs de France no longer offers to take the BAFA for free. Thank you to our reader, Matthieu (EEDF development coordinator), for keeping us informed of this change.

Some organizations, such as the Éclaireurs de France (eedf) offer free training at BAFA. The deal is to then guarantee them 2 months of volunteering in animation. That's good, since finding a job without experience (even in animation) is always difficult. If I had had this tip at the time, I wouldn't have hesitated for a second.

Also check with your Family Allowance Fund, your town hall, the general council or even the Pôle Emploi. Aid can sometimes be granted.

2. Different salaries according to the reception structures

Once the BAFA is in your pocket, where can you apply for a top salary? Well I would like to point out all the same here that we do not spend our BAFA for a question of money but for the love of children and the desire to offer them and share unforgettable moments.

Nevertheless, it is good to remember that in general, summer camps are much more fun but you gain little: between 500 and 900 € for 3 weeks, while in a day center (CLSH), you can receiving much more than the minimum wage, but the experience and the atmosphere are very different from summer camps!

3. The Benefits of Animation

Knowing that I will never earn my living with animation, I will never regret having passed my BAFA. I still feel this need to go and invest myself in incredible stays.

We are also a winner in this story. Corsica, Turkey, Spain, United States, and even in the depths of our beautiful France (I'm just talking in terms of the landscape eh;)), I might not have had the opportunity to go so soon !

And then the children ... Ah children! From 3 to 18 years old, they have always managed to prove to me that I had done well to pass this BAFA. We do everything to offer them as many fun activities as possible and they give us back. What can we learn from these kids?

My best memory? A sports colo at the sea with suburban kids aged 12-15, half of whom had never seen the sea. Unforgettable moments when the first evening, we spent the evening on the beach.

The pleasure of giving and personal enrichment are certain. Animation is like personal development therapy by the sea or in the mountains that you will never pay!

So, still motivated to become an Animator? Are you going to use my tip to take the BAFA for free? Come share your impressions in the comments.
