3 Homemade Stain Removers To GET AWAY From Dog Pee Spots.

In addition to owning 2 adorable boxers, I often look after my friends' dogs.

Believe me, that's a lot of doggies that come to my house every day!

In short, with me, good stain removers are absolutely essential. I need these products for remove stains but also for neutralize bad smells associated with accidents to my dogs.

Unfortunately, it took far too long to realize that I could easily make my own cleansers.

In addition, these homemade recipes with stain and deodorant properties are as effective as the dozen of expensive commercial stain removers that I have already tried!

1. White vinegar and baking soda stain remover

It doesn't get any easier than this recipe. It is also the one that I choose most often. It's simple, inexpensive, and works particularly well on blood and urine stains.

If you don't know it yet, white vinegar is a miracle product that even works on old urine stains. Dogs are particularly good at leaving little pees in hidden places.

As for baking soda, it is THE natural deodorant par excellence. Combined with white vinegar, bicarbonate is surprisingly effective in eliminating even the worst odors.

What you need

- 50 cl of white vinegar

- 50 cl of lukewarm water

- 4 good tablespoons of baking soda

- 1 spray bottle (optional)

Method # 1

Spray vinegar water mixed with baking soda to remove urine stains from your pets.

To. Use an old rag or paper towels to mop up any little surprise left by your pet. I cannot stress enough the importance of this step!

Cover the affected area with an old cloth folded in half. Then, put a thick book on the cloth and stand on the book. It may seem a bit extreme to you, but this technique is very effective in extracting as much liquid as possible from your carpet or rug!

b. Mix 50 cl of white vinegar in 50 cl of lukewarm water, in a large container.

vs. Add four full tablespoons of baking soda. Do not pour all of the baking soda all at once, as this creates a small chemical reaction when mixed with the vinegar. The fizz is totally normal, do not be afraid :-)

d. Pour the vinegar-bicarbonate mixture into a spray bottle and spray the affected area thoroughly. Leave on for 5 min. If you don't have a spray bottle, pour this mixture directly onto the stain.

e. Rub the stain gently and blot the excess cleaner with a soft cloth.

Method # 2

Baking soda and white vinegar remove bad odors from urine stains.

To. As in the first method above, clean and blot the stain as much as possible.

b. Mix 50 cl of lukewarm water in 50 cl of white vinegar.

d. This will create a mini volcanic eruption which will dissolve the stain and neutralize the bad odors. Leave on for 5 min.

e. Gently rub and blot excess cleaner with a soft cloth.

2. Stain remover based on hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate

 Hydrogen peroxide is very effective in removing urine stains from animals.

Too little known, hydrogen peroxide is also one of the most powerful natural cleaners for destroying urine "crystals" and extracting stains from your carpet or rug.

Combine hydrogen peroxide with the deodorizing properties of baking soda, and you have a highly effective natural cleanser for remove stains of your animals and neutralize their bad smells.

What you need

- paper towels or old rags

- 180 g of baking soda

- 12 cl of hydrogen peroxide 10 volumes

- 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid

- 1 large bowl

How to do

To. Cover the stain with paper towels or old rags. Then, stomp on the affected area to squeeze the excess liquid from the stain (you can also put a large, heavy book on top of the paper towels).

b. Once you've mopped up as much liquid as possible, sprinkle a big handful of baking soda on the stain.

Baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and washing up liquid remove urine stains from animals.

vs. Mix 12 cl of hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid.

d. Gradually pour this mixture over the baking soda covering the stain.

e. Scrub the stain gently with a soft-bristled brush or an old cloth, so that the cleaner completely penetrates the fibers of your carpet.

f. Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then vacuum.

g. Repeat the above steps for stubborn stains.

3. Citrus bio-enzyme stain remover

On the labels of commercial stain removers, we often find texts that highlight the fact that their product contains "enzymes" that act at the molecular level to break down and neutralize stains and odors.

It may sound scientific and complicated, but with a little time and patience, you too can make your own bioenzyme stain remover. Look :

What you need

- 7 tablespoons of brown sugar

- citrus peels (lemon or orange), the equivalent of 1 ½ mustard glass

- 1 l of water

- 1 glass bottle (or glass container) large enough to hold liquid and bark

How to do

To. Pour the brown sugar into the container, using a funnel if necessary.

b. Add the citrus peels.

vs. Add the water.

d. Tighten the cap of the bottle or container securely.

e. Shake vigorously to combine the brown sugar and rinds.

The enzymes in lemon peels are great for removing bad odors from your pets' urine stains.

f. Loosen the cap halfway, to allow gas to escape and prevent the container from exploding due to gas build-up.

g. After 3 months of storage, your natural enzyme cleanser is ready to use!
