Keep Herbs Fresh Easily by Freezing them.

Freezing is the best way to avoid spoiling the taste of your food.

I keep my fresh herbs in my freezer to make my life easier.

Basil, mint, coriander, chives, tarragon, parsley or even rosemary, my aromatic herbs all have a place in my freezer.

To keep herbs fresh longer, they must be frozen.

Freeze the herbs whole

The best way is to wash and of them to dry then to arrange them in tupperwares.

When you want them to cook, you will only have to chop what you will need for your recipe.

Freeze the herbs in ice cubes

Chop them beforehand and store them frozen in ice cubes in the freezer. It takes about 1 tbsp water for 1 teaspoon of chopped herbs.

You will get beautiful ice cubes with herbs that you can use directly in soups or sauces. You can also use them to make delicious cocktails.

However, it should be noted that the texture and color of some leaves may be affected by freezing, like basil which becomes a little softer and darker, but its taste remains intact.

Savings made

My smart advice is to freeze your food directly after shopping. This greatly reduces waste. A bunch of herbs at the supermarket is often between 2 € and 3 €.

If you buy it regularly, the bill can go up quickly! With my method, you will avoid wasting your precious bouquets and you can hope to save a few tens of euros per year.
