Make Your Own Dishwasher Tablets. Here is the Super Simple Recipe!

A few weeks ago, we shared our dishwasher powder recipe with you.

We can say that it worked rather well since you were more than 4000 to share it :-) Thank you!

Since then, several readers have asked us how to make dishwasher tablets.

I'm happy to report that I've finally found an easy way to make your own organic dishwasher tablets. And it actually works!

Believe me, I tested methods that weren't great ...

But these homemade tablets not only work, they smell great too!

I'll show you how to do your own dishwasher detergent.

Here's what you'll need to get between 16 and 20 dishwasher tablets:

Ingredients

- 60 g of soda crystals

- 60 g of baking soda

- 60 g of citric acid

- 60 g of coarse sea salt

- 15 drops of lavender essential oil

- 15 drops of lemon essential oil

- a little water

- An ice cube tray

How to do

1. Mix all the ingredients together with a whisk, except for the water.

Note: stir well, making sure the essential oils are well mixed with the dry ingredients.

2. Slowly and gradually add the water to the container. Start with about a teaspoon of water, then mix well and check the consistency.

3. Keep adding water until you can form a "snowball".

Warning : Do not add too much water or your tablets will not dry well.

4. Once your mixture has the right consistency, fill the ice cube tray.

5. Tamp well to be sure there are no air pockets.

6. Let them dry for 12 to 24 hours.

7. Once dry, you can gently invert your ice cube tray and your lozenges will fall out on their own like ice cubes.

You can store them in a glass jar like in the photo. The important thing is to store them in a dry place.

I am delighted that I can now make my own homemade tablets. That still makes one more chemical-free product at home.

Plus, these DIY lozenges smell amazingly good. No more running to the supermarket if I don't have any ... I can just make them myself, and it takes a few minutes :-)
