According to a study that lasted 10 years, drinking light coke increases the risk of heart attack.

That's it ? Have you made up your mind to have a healthier lifestyle?

Have you decided to be more careful with what you eat?

Only problem, you can not stop the Coca-Cola ...

You tell yourself that it doesn't matter because you just need to drink Coke Light or Zero instead of Classic Coke.

You are not the only one who has this type of thinking.

Millions of people say the same thing and switch to Coke Light or Zero, hoping that it is better for their health ...

Drinking Cola Light is linked to heart problems.

And somewhere that's normal because the manufacturers of low-fat drinks do everything to make us believe it.

They invest millions of dollars in advertising campaigns to make us believe that drinking their low-sugar products is a perfectly healthy alternative.

Unfortunately, these claims from the manufacturers of low-fat drinks are totally false!

Indeed, to replace the high sugar content of coca, most manufacturers use a sweetener:aspartame.

However, a recent study conducted by the University of Iowa in the United States indicates that this chemical is directly linked to an increased risk of heart disease.

The dangers of "Coca Light"

Led by Dr. Ankur Vyas, the University of Iowa study is one of the most advanced of its kind.

Indeed, more than 60,000 women participated in the study, on a 9 year period.

Officially titled The Women's Health Initiative Observational Study, it attests to the danger of the consumption of light drinks such as Coca Light on our health.

This study came up with the following result: People who drink more than 2 low-fat sodas per day have a 30% higher risk of having a cardiovascular event (stroke).

What are the dangers of cola on health

In addition, people who drink low-fat sodas have an increased risk of 50% die from heart disease, compared to people who do not drink low fat sodas.

Dr. Vyas explains: “This is one of the most important studies on this subject. Our results agree with those of studies and clinical research already carried out on the subject, particularly those which establish a link between the consumption of low-fat drinks and the metabolic syndrome ”.

If we take into account the exceptional scope of this study, and the fact that a French person drinks on average 22.7 liters of Coca-Cola per year, these results should, we hope, have a significant impact on the public health policy with regard to low-fat drinks.

The study researchers divided the 59,614 participants into 4 distinct groups according to their consumption of low-fat drinks:

- those drinking more than 2 light drinks per day,

- those drinking 5 to 7 light drinks per week,

- those drinking 1 to 4 light drinks per week,

- those drinking between 0 to 3 light drinks per month.

Then, medical analyzes were performed on each woman who participated in the study. over a period of 9 years.

Here are the researchers' results for each of the 4 groups:

- women consuming more than 2 light drinks per day had 8.5% higher risk to have one of the following diseases: coronary heart disease, heart attack, coronary revascularization intervention, ischemic stroke, peripheral vascular disease and even cardiovascular death.

- in women consuming 5 to 7 light drinks per week, this risk was 6.9%.

- for women consuming 1 to 4 light drinks per week, this risk was 6.8%.

- for those who consumed between 0 to 3 light drinks per month, the risk was 7.2%.

At first glance, these results do not agree with the hypothesis of the study.

She believes that aspartame is one of the main causes of heart disease.

However, analyzes indicate that women in the group who consumed more than 2 low-fat sodas per day were also younger than women from other groups.

Yet despite their younger age, they face a slightly higher risk of heart attacks.

Therefore, this age difference means that low-fat drinks cause health problems for a person. much faster pace.

Additionally, women in this more than 2 drink per week group also had higher body mass indices (BMIs), higher rates of diabetes, and higher blood pressure.

Despite the scope of this study, no official conclusions have yet been drawn, but the initial results are alarming.

“Based on our results and those of previous studies, we owe it to ourselves to do more research to better understand and define the link between low-fat sodas and heart disease.

“The public health implications of consuming low-fat drinks are of paramount importance,” concludes Dr. Vyas.

Fortunately, since the publication of the University of Iowa study, several other studies have been commissioned to better assess the extent of health problems caused by aspartame.

While waiting for these results, common sense clearly indicates that you should eliminate Coke Light and other low-fat sodas from your daily diet.

In addition, if you can not resist drinks such as Coca Light, choose the "classic" versions of sodas, that is to say those that contain real sugar.

Indeed, contrary to what one might think, these have less harmful effects on your health than the light versions.

Remember, manufacturers are pumping astronomical amounts of money into their advertising campaigns to make us believe that Light Coke is a healthy alternative.

This is further proof that manufacturers care more about putting their pockets in their pockets than the health of their consumers.

Therefore, it is essential to protect your body by taking the greatest care to choose the right food and drink that you consume.
