What Does Breast Cancer Look Like? Here Is The Photo That Will Help You Detect It.

You may have noticed that your friends are posting red hearts on their Facebook.

The purpose of these little red hearts is to raise awareness about the fight against breast cancer.

But a woman on Facebook made an apt point about it:

"Are those hearts posted on Facebook really the solution to saving lives?"

This woman's name is Erin Chieze and on her Facebook she posted a photo of lemons showing exactly what breast cancer can look and feel like in the eye and touch.

And, unsurprisingly, this photo was a hit. There she is :

this is what breast cancer can look like

In reaction to all these red hearts, she explained the importance of showing these lemons to as many people as possible.

"In December 2015, when I saw a mark on my breast that looked like one of these pictures, I knew immediately that I had breast cancer," she writes.

“I tried to locate my tumor but it was not palpable. 5 days later, the cancer was diagnosed and reached stage 4 in the following months.

A heart wouldn't have been of much use to me in detecting that I had cancer.

Of course, I knew what breast cancer was. I knew all about self-examination.

But a photo of what to look for helped me detect that I had a life-threatening illness. "

She continues, “We all need real information, and less cute little hearts.

If I hadn't seen this photo with some practical information, I wouldn't have known what to look for.

So be nice. No need to put hearts everywhere! Instead, share tips that really help people. "

Share this image to save lives!

Erin has decided to take matters into her own hands and publish her touching story.

She wanted to do something to help save lives, like this picture did for her.

This photo is part of a campaign against breast cancer called "Know Your Lemons" launched by Worldwide Breast Cancer.

It is an educational image that all women should know and share in order to be able to examine themselves and, in some cases, save their lives.

"If you really want to help people who have cancer or those who will be dealing with cancer, share photos like this," Erin said finally.
