Why it works

This is the perfect trick if you don't have a dustpan and brush handy.

When you throw pieces of glass in the trash after a small household accident, if you do not wrap them, it can be very dangerous.

Whoever takes the bag out of the trash can get cut by closing the trash can or carrying it to throw it in the dumpster.

There is also a risk that the glass will cut the plastic bag and that your trash can open on all sides.
