Easy, fast and efficient, right?

Thanks to this grandmother's trick, your stale bread turns into perfectly soft and crispy bread. Magical !

This trick works for all breads that have a crust: baguette, string, ball ...

I must admit that before trying this technique, I was quite skeptical.

But believe my experience it works really - the result is simply stunning!

Now I can take stale, almost inedible bread, and turn it into a perfectly soft and crispy bread on the outside.

Try this trick and I'm sure you'll be as pleasantly surprised as I was!

Why does it work?

Stale bread made soft cut into slices

The water slightly moistens the crust of the bread.

In aluminum foil, the heat in the oven gradually transforms this water into steam.

And it is this vapor that will soften the bread, diffusing slowly through the crumb.

As a result, the bread regains its light and soft texture, as if it came out of the bakery oven!

As for the second baking without the aluminum foil, this is what gives a nice crispness to the crust of the bread. Yum !

Additional advice

- If your bread has already been sliced, then avoid over-moistening the crumb.

- You don't have any aluminum foil? This trick still works. Your bread will be just a little less crispy and chewy.

- Of course, remember to keep the aluminum foil, to reuse it next time. And if you don't know what to do with it, here are 19 uses.

- If you do not have an oven, place your moistened hard bread directly on your toaster, turning it over several times for 2 to 3 minutes.
