Finally a Homemade Mascara Recipe Your Eyes WILL LOVE!

Did you know that the use of mascara dates back to ancient Egypt?

Today, most formulas contain roughly the same basic ingredients, namely pigment, oil and wax.

Unfortunately, we know that toxic substances are used in cosmetics, including mascara.

This is the disturbing conclusion drawn by UFC-Que Choisir, after studying 237 commonly used cosmetics.

Moreover, before making my own mascara, I used a "volume effect" mascara. that irritated my eyes ...

Apparently, allergic reactions to mascara are very common.

They are most often caused by ingredients that are found in almost all commercial mascaras, namely:

- methylparaben,

- alum powder,

- ceteareth-20 (ethoxylated),

- butylparaben,

- or benzyl alcohol.

Obviously we can turn to "organic" mascaras like this one. But the worry is that they cost an arm and a leg!

Fortunately, you can make your own homemade mascara easily and for much less than organic products.

Without further ado, discover the homemade recipe of 100% organic mascara. Don't worry, it's simple! Look :

Ingredients

The ingredients of this homemade mascara are 100% natural, no toxic products here!

- 2 teaspoons of coconut oil

- 4 teaspoons of aloe vera gel

- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of beeswax (in pearls or shavings)

- 1 to 2 capsules of activated vegetable charcoal (for a black color) or cocoa powder (for a dark brown color)

- an empty mascara bottle, like this one

How to do

1. Put the coconut oil, aloe vera gel, and beeswax in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat until the beeswax is completely melted.

2. Open one or two capsules of activated charcoal (i.e. between 1/4 and 1/2 teaspoon, depending on the desired color). Pour this powder into the coconut oil mixture.

3. Mix everything, until the powder is completely incorporated. Remove from the heat.

4. Pour the mascara into a small plastic bag, and push the mixture into one of the corners of the bag. Then, cut a very small hole in the opposite corner of the bag.

Make a hole in a plastic bag to make a pocket.

5. Fold the corner where you cut a hole. Keep folding it, until it forms a point, as in the photo above.

6. Insert the tip of the plastic bag into the empty mascara bottle. take care of insert the tip to the bottom of the bottle, otherwise you will put it everywhere!

Push your homemade mascara into its bottle using a plastic bag.

7. Hold the perforated tip of the bag inside the vial. Ask a friend to help you with this step, an extra pair of hands will be welcome!

Then start to lightly squeeze your mascara inside the tube, as in the photo above. But not too quickly, because the mixture may overflow and dirty your beautiful tablecloth! I advise you to do this step over a paper towel. Keep squeezing the mixture until the bottle is full.

8. Put on the cover with the brush in place.

Results

One of the benefits of using homemade mascara is that it is chemical free.

And there you have it, your homemade mascara is already ready to use :-)

Easy, fast and economical, isn't it?

It's still better to use makeup WITHOUT ANY chemicals, right?

Lots of people have asked me for pictures of the mascara on my lashes. It is now done with the photo below.

Keep in mind that in this photo I only put on my homemade mascara, and no other makeup.

Additional advice

Like all mascaras, this organic mascara cannot be stored no more than 4-6 months. After this time, discard the tube and brush.

If your homemade mascara smells strong or strange, throw it out. It's unlikely and very rare, but bacteria can thrive in mascara!

Take care of always close the lid tightlyotherwise your mascara will be quite dry.

The amount of beeswax varies depending on the temperature in your area. Indeed, above 32 ° C, coconut oil becomes liquid. If it is very hot in your area or if you want a "waterproof" mascara, use 3/4 to 1 teaspoon of beeswax.

Activated charcoal, also called activated charcoal, is not at all the same charcoal that we use to barbecue! Some readers have expressed doubts about the use of activated charcoal near the eyes. If this worries you too, simply replace the charcoal with cocoa powder, for added safety :-)

Why do I LOVE my homemade mascara?

Making homemade mascara with only natural ingredients is easy and inexpensive.

I'm not going to lie to you, my first results weren't very convincing ... I had managed to make real mascara, but the effect on my lashes was so subtle that it was not really worth it .

Over time, I changed my formula by adding beeswax. And there, I am totally satisfied!

Okay, my homemade mascara is not yet totally "waterproof". But to this day, I still haven't had any drips, the famous "raccoon eyes"! And this even after my intensive training sessions.

By the way, if you want a thicker, completely water resistant mascara, just increase the amount of beeswax in the recipe below.

Today, I am 100% satisfied with my organic mascara! When I apply it my eyelashes are impeccably blackened, separated and hydrated.

In addition, this natural mascara is perfect for sensitive eyes. I haven't had itchy eyes once since using it!

And this recipe is easy as pie! The only trick that's a little complicated is to fit your homemade mascara into this damn little bottle! Grrr ...

By the way, if you have a kitchen syringe like this, I advise you to use it.
