How to Clean and Maintain a Wicker Chair EASILY.

Are your wicker chairs in need of a good cleaning?

You are right, it is important to take care of them so that your chairs last as long as possible.

The wicker is delicate to maintain in depth because of all the small interstices in which the dust hides.

Fortunately, there is a simple trick to maintaining your rattan furniture.

The trick is to run a little lukewarm, soapy water on the wicker to clean it. Look :

How to do

1. With your vacuum cleaner, vacuum the dust nests.

2. In a basin, put a few liters of lukewarm water.

3. Add a teaspoon of liquid soap.

4. Take a clean sponge.

5. Soak it in the soapy water.

6. Spread it over your wicker seats, wringing it out well beforehand so as not to soak the wicker.

7. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

8. Wipe thoroughly with a cloth.

Results

And There you go ! Your wicker chairs have regained their original color :-)

They are cleaned and washed thoroughly and ready to use. It's still cheaper than buying new ones, isn't it?

Wring out your sponge well so as not to deposit too much water on the wicker. This swells on contact with water and sometimes shrinks too much when it dries.

For small inaccessible places, feel free to use a toothbrush instead of the sponge.

If the wicker has become too dark over time, rinse with this mixture: pour 4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide at 15 volumes in 1 liter of water. Then rinse and pat dry.

If your wicker seats squeak as soon as you sit on them, grease the knuckles with paraffin oil.
