Ingredients
- 1 glass of citric acid
- 1 glass of baking soda
- ½ glass of cornstarch
- ½ glass of melted coconut oil
- 8-10 drops of your favorite essential oils
- spherical silicone mold or cupcake mold
- 2 medium sized bowls
- food coloring (optional)
Step 1: mix the dry ingredients
In a medium-sized bowl, combine all the dry ingredients: citric acid, baking soda, and cornstarch.
Optional: you want to color your bath bombs? So it is at this stage that the food coloring must be added.
The best method is to use a whisk! Start by adding just a few drops.
Then add more coloring until you get the color you want.
Step 2: mix the liquid ingredients
In another bowl, combine the essential oils with the melted coconut oil.
For my bath bombs, I chose to use organic lemon essential oil.
Step 3: mix the dry and liquid ingredients
Add the mixture of oils step by step in the bowl of dry ingredients.
Take good care of pour the oil mixture gradually.
If you pour everything all at once, the liquid will create a chemical reaction with the citric acid!
Continue to mix all the ingredients with your hands, until you get the consistency of a shortbread dough.
Step 4: put the mixture in a mold
Transfer everything into the molds of your choice, and tamp each pebble with the back of a spoon.
I used this mold in the shape of balls.
But you can also use a muffin tin, or even a heart shaped tin!
