The 6 Main Benefits of Soy Milk.

Cow's milk is not the ideal milk for everyone. There are intolerances, it must be taken into account.

This is when soy milk can come in, a very good alternative in many cases.

Soy milk (preferably organic like this one), like any other milk, has its virtues and benefits.

It is most often used as a replacement for cow's milk, in specific cases where the latter can be banned temporarily or permanently.

But it can also be consumed for other reasons, let's see which together:

soy milk has benefits for babies

1. Regurgitation of babies

Dairy products are such an important part of the diet of young children that it is hard to imagine abandoning them. But sometimes babies digest cow's milk very badly.

Frequent regurgitation follows, or even real daily vomiting, which is very difficult for the child, as for his parents. In case of'intolerancewith cow's milk, pediatrician may recommend that you give your child milk and soy yogurt.

Sometimes this diet will be accompanied by a few physiotherapy sessions. In most cases, by the time the child turns 2, the problem is resolved and he can switch to cow's milk.

2. Constipation

You or your child tend to be constipated. In this case, it is recommended to consume less dairy products. The concern, again, especially for children, is that milk is very important for growth. For us adults, it also brings benefits that cannot be overlooked.

Soy milk will still be a good alternative here. If you, or your child, are constipated, seek medical advice for replacing cow's milk with soy milk, at least temporarily.

3. Allergies

Cow's milk can cause different allergies, other than the non-tolerance at the level of digestion. These allergies are due to certain proteins in cow's milk that are not present in milk of plant origin, such as soy.

Here the doctor himself will alert you. The symptoms that should make you think of these allergies are vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain. At that time, it will be useful to study with him a possible use of soy milk.

4. Anti-cholesterol

Health professionals advise to replace, at least partially, animal proteins by vegetable proteins, in the case of high cholesterol. Here, the use of soy milk once again seems relevant.

The consumption of soy protein would therefore decrease the cardiovascular risks, just like tofu as a replacement for red meat. Vegetable dairy products provide proteins without associated bad fats.

5. Transient illnesses

In certain transient illnesses, such as gastro for example, it is useful to change your diet to heal faster. Here again, soy milk can be a good ally, because dairy products of animal origin are not recommended.

6. Vegan diet

A vegan diet is a diet that excludes meats, poultry, fish and seafood as well as animal products (eggs, milk, etc.). Hence the interest, again, in finding replacement elements, including soy milk.

Beware of intolerances

Some allergies can appear the same with soy milk as they do with cow's milk. Even if the risks are much lower, there are some, as with any food.

That is why I recommend you once again to ask your doctor's advice, before considering adopting this diet. If there is nothing wrong with that, then do not hesitate!

Side effects of soy?

Soy, like many other foods, is sometimes criticized. It is suspected of some side effects such as lowering protein assimilation, causing drops in blood pressure or mild anemia. It has also been said to prevent the thyroid from using iodine and inhibit calcium uptake in some subjects.

That being said, these suspicions are mostly carried on the consumption of raw beans soy or flour not fully cooked. Regarding the milk, made from well-cooked flour, there is no problem. This is why manufacturers now cook soy flour.

Hundreds of thousands of Asian babies have been raised exclusively on these milks, and a priori, are no worse off. No notorious side effects were raised.

Other vegetable milks

Soy milk, although the most widespread and well-known, is not the only vegetable milk that can be used, even if it is the closest to cow's milk in its composition.

There are other milks such as rice, chestnut, almond, hazelnut, coconut, quinoa milk ... You can even find some. fortified with calcium.

When it comes to choosing your vegetable milk, the first will of course be the taste. Then, undoubtedly, the places where to get them (organic stores for the most part).

For guidance, the prices are, on average, for soy milk from 1,60 € the liter, 1,75 € the liter for rice milk or 3 € for that of hazelnut or almond.
