Use a multi-purpose cleaner to clean particularly dirty parts of the wood. The house recipe for the multi-purpose cleaner is here.
2.Apply
Use a soft cloth to place a small knob of encaustic on the surface. Then, make small circles to spread the wax over the entire surface.
Or, better yet, use a paintbrush to apply the floor polish along the grain of the wood.
Do not hesitate to apply a generous amount of polish, even if you want to remove the excess later.
3. Let dry
Let the wax sit for 15 to 30 minutes, so that it penetrates well into the wood fibers.
4. Gloss
With a clean, soft cloth, rub the wood to make it shine.
