RECIPE N ° 1

Homemade wood wax: the recipe for wood wax with beeswax and linseed oil.

What you need

- 1 handful of beeswax nuggets

- ½ glass of linseed oil

- 2 tablespoons of liquid black soap

- 1 saucepan

- 1 old glass jar with lid

How to do

1. In the saucepan, melt the beeswax in a double boiler.

4. Remove from the heat and mix ...

5. Put this mixture in the jar, then close it.

RECIPE N ° 2

This is the same recipe as above, except this time we add turpentine.

Indeed, for the encaustic to penetrate deeply into the fibers of the wood, nothing like turpentine!

What you need

The recipe for homemade wood wax with beeswax, linseed oil and turpentine.

- 1 handful of beeswax nuggets

- ½ glass of linseed oil

- ½ glass of turpentine

- 2 tablespoons of liquid black soap

- 1 wooden spatula or 1 Chinese chopstick

- 1 saucepan

- 1 old glass jar with lid

How to do

1. Melt the beeswax in a double boiler.

2. Add the linseed oil, then the black soap.

3. Remove from the heat and mix, until you get a smooth and creamy paste.

4. Add the turpentine.

5. Mix vigorously with the wooden spatula (or Chinese chopstick).

6. Put this mixture in the jar, then close it.

RECIPE N ° 3

Don't you have beeswax? No worries, try this non-waxy version of the house polish.

What you need

The recipe for homemade wood wax with white vinegar, linseed oil and turpentine.

- ⅔ a glass of turpentine

- ⅓ of a glass of white vinegar

- 1 glass of linseed oil

- 1 old jar with lid

How to do

1. Pour the ingredients into an old jar.

2. Close the jar and shake to mix well.

How to use homemade wood wax to make furniture shine?

1.Clean up

Before using homemade wood wax, consider cleaning the wood with a multi-purpose cleaner.

Use a multi-purpose cleaner to clean particularly dirty parts of the wood. The house recipe for the multi-purpose cleaner is here.

2.Apply

How to apply homemade wood wax on a wooden table?

Use a soft cloth to place a small knob of encaustic on the surface. Then, make small circles to spread the wax over the entire surface.

Or, better yet, use a paintbrush to apply the floor polish along the grain of the wood.

Do not hesitate to apply a generous amount of polish, even if you want to remove the excess later.

3. Let dry

Let the wax sit for 15 to 30 minutes, so that it penetrates well into the wood fibers.

4. Gloss

How to polish a wooden table with homemade wood wax?

With a clean, soft cloth, rub the wood to make it shine.
