Are You Watching A Movie And The Voices Are Inaudible But The Music Is Too Loud? Here is the Tip.

Are you used to watching movies on your computer?

Then you surely know this problem when playing a movie.

The music of the film is too loud while the voices of the dialogues are inaudible.

As a result, we spend our time raising and lowering the volume of our PC throughout the film ... Not very practical!

Fortunately, there is a trick to fix this audio problem and boost inaudible dialogue.

The trick is to adjust the audio settings of the video player as below:

Dialogue too low and music too loud on macbook

How to do

1. On your PC, open your VLC video player.

2. Go to the Preferences, then click Audio >Filters >Dynamic compression.

3. On this screen, pass the Threshold Level To -20.

4. Put it on Ratio To 20.

5. And set the Makeup Gain Value To 12.

Results

And there you have it, the voices are now audible and the music much less loud :-)

No more music louder than head voices!

Very handy when watching a movie quietly on your laptop.

You can of course adjust these settings according to the quality of your computer speakers and see what works best for you.

Depending on the VLC version you have, the settings are not necessarily in the same places.

Be aware that these settings will remove the dynamics of the sound effects of the film.

Better to avoid using them if you are listening to the sound on quality external speakers.

For those who have a Mac, know that you access these VLC settings by going to Preferences > click on Show all > click on Filters > and finally Compression.

Your turn...
