The 5 Natural Tips To Get Rid Of Midges Finally.

Midges quickly invade a house. Especially in summer.

They are often placed on plants, but not only.

They can be found everywhere, including in the kitchen (often near the trash can), which is not very tasty.

Whether you have kids and pets or not, you don't like to use chemicals to get rid of them.

So here are 5 natural tips to finally get rid of midges.

apple cider vinegar or matches keep gnats away

1. Apple cider vinegar

The principle is a bit that of wasp traps with syrup. But here the ingredient is apple cider vinegar.

- Fill a closed container (plastic box type) with apple cider vinegar.

- Drill the cover with several small holes.

- Place your trap where you have midges.

The midges will enter the box and remain trapped there.

2. Cloves

This trick works with flies, so it also works with midges.

It consists of planting cloves in half a lemon.

3. Cork stoppers

More surprisingly, this trick is however very effective. And it couldn't be more natural and odorless!

Simply place corks in the fruit basket. Not only does this trick repel midges, but it also prevents your fruit from rotting too quickly.

4. Black soap

Midges like to get on your plants. It is therefore important to treat this particular place with a product that is harmless to them.

I named the black soap.

- Dilute 1 tablespoon of liquid black soap in 1 liter of lukewarm water.

- Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

- Put this mixture in a clean spray bottle.

- Shake before use.

- Spray directly on the leaves of your plants.

You can do this regularly until the gnats and flies are gone, and occasionally for prevention, even if you don't have any more.

5. Matches

If there is one thing that midges dislike, but then not at all, it is sulfur.

Where is sulfur found? Well, at the end of the matches.

Stick several matches in the soil of your plants. The sulfur will destroy the eggs deposited by the midges and thus avoid having new ones.

Put of course the sulfur matches down. Change them when they have run out of sulfur.

Prevention tips

In order to avoid the invasion of midges, here are some precautions to take:

- remove any stagnant water in the house,

- do not leave food residues lying around,

- properly close the bins,

- do not water the plants too much,

- clean the siphons regularly (for this, the coffee grounds are perfect),

- buy a carnivorous plant if necessary.
