8 Effective Tips To Permanently Eliminate Dust.

What is that sheep of dust hiding under your carpet doing?

Come to think of it… we should rather say these dust sheep!

Because wherever you find a sheep of dust, you are sure that many are hiding.

Unless you manage to eliminate them before they even multiply ...

But how do you get rid of this dust that keeps coming back? The first defense against dust is prevention!

Here are 8 tips to prevent dust from invading your home:

tips for removing dust

1. Avoid trinkets

Eliminate or reduce the number of dust catchers, such as knickknacks, especially in areas where you spend the most time such as living rooms and bedrooms.

That's the advice of Mark Sneller, head of Aero, an allergen research center in the United States and author of the guide to family health. The quality of the indoor air.

2. Anti-dust mite pillow and mattress covers

If you are allergic to dust mites or wake up with a stuffy nose, consider covering your cushions and mattresses with zippered dust mite covers.

Wash them twice a year at high temperature. We recommend this anti-dust mite pillow cover and mattress cover.

3. Invest in doormats

Put large, thick, tightly woven doormats with a rubber coating in front of each door that allows entry into the house.

4. Use air purifiers

Place air purifiers in the rooms where you are most often. They will help suck up dust before it sets in.

No need to invest in an ionic air purifier: they release ozone. Instead, opt for a filtration air purifier.

5. Maintain a good level of humidity

Maintain a humidity level between 40% and 50% in your home, to reduce static electricity.

Static electricity attracts dust and makes it more difficult to remove.

6. Invest in a good oven filter

Filters for inexpensive ovens or air conditioners, such as those made of fiberglass, do little to prevent dust, says Aileen Gagney, a specialist in the environmental health program in the United States.

Choose pleated filters with a higher MERV rating (average efficiency ratio value), but be careful to meet your oven standards. If you are unsure, seek advice from a specialist.

7. Better wood, metal or plastic blinds

Wood, metal or plastic blinds are easier to clean than fabric curtains.

You just need to wipe them with a microfiber cloth (also called an electrostatic cloth). If you have curtains, use your vacuum cleaner brush to clean them.

8. No fabric softener on microfiber cloths

Avoid washing your rags in general, and especially microfiber rags, with fabric softener.

This reduces their ability to attract and remove dust. They also become less efficient at absorbing liquids.
