Thousands of Free Audio Books to Download: Listen Without Moderation!
Looking for free online books to listen to on your commute or at home?
In the car, I discovered a fun solution to revise the great literary classics.
I download an audiobook on my mp3 player (it also works on iPhone) which I then plug into my car radio.
I recently discovered much of the La Fontaine's fables and since then I have been listening to the fabulous tales of Thousand and One Nights.
For free audiobooks to legally download online on your MP3 player or iPhone, here are the good addresses on the web to know:
1. In French
Audiocite.net and Litteratureaudio.com are 2 sites offering an audio library of free books in French.
Audiobooks are read by motivated and conscientious volunteers.
I haven't been disappointed with the different reading styles yet.
We find on these 2 sites mainly classical literature.
When it comes to choice, there's plenty to do with over 6,000 audiobooks to listen to on Litteratureaudio alone. Will it be enough?
And if you want even more audiobooks to download freely, check out Atramenta and Bibliboom.
2. In English
The best way to learn English is to listen to audiobooks while on the road.
The best sites to download good free audiobooks are: librivox, openculture, loyalbooks, gutenberg, and learnoutloud.
These sites are full of thousands of books on all themes: literature, fiction, adventure, detective, history, etc.
I am convinced that by choosing the right books, you will improve or perfect your English for free without leaving your chair or your bed.

For long train journeys, I prefer a good Dostoyevsky or a Baudelaire.
Well installed and eyes closed, it is so easy.
My purse is lightened up and I am entertained without spending a dime.
