How To Make A Home And Natural Paint Yourself?

1. Meudon white
To make your own painting, nothing like Meudon white, that sort of crushed chalk powder. It is available at all DIY stores and can be very easily used for painting.
To do this, simply mix one volume of Meudon white with half a volume of water. The quantities depend of course on the amount of paint you need, as well as its thickness.
Once you've got the mix right, you've done your natural white paint. Now just grab your brush and start painting!
If you want to have colorful paint, just add a colored pigment of the desired color (around € 5 at Comptoir des pigments).
2. Wheat flour
You do not believe in it ? Well yet, it is true! You can make your own painting with food flour. Here is the recipe:
To make 1 liter of paint, you will need:
- 100 g of wheat flour
- 1 l water
- 200 g of pigments in the color of your choice
- 10 cl ofoil linen
How to do
1. Heat a little water (10 to 20 cl), gradually adding the flour until the mixture thickens.
2. addthe rest of the water and boil 10 min, while stirring to obtain something smooth.
3. Add the linseed oil and the pigments you have chosen.
4. Heat over low heat for 20 minutes.
Results
And now everything is ready! You made your homemade natural paint :-)
Savings made
In DIY and construction material stores, paint cans cost between 25 and 60 € per liter, depending on the brand, quality and color.
Suffice to say that it is not for small budgets!
Meudon white costs around € 7 for 500 g, and edible flour a maximum of € 3 for 500 g. With our technique, you can therefore achieve 1 liter of paint for around € 10, and in addition she will be natural !
