1. To test the soil pH

Moisten your soil with distilled water. Sprinkle a handful of baking soda on the wet floor. If bubbles do appear, chances are you have acidic soil, with a pH probably below 5.

2. As a homemade vegetable fungicide

Mix 5 tablespoons of baking soda with 5 liters of water. This gives you a homemade fungicide that is much cheaper than those sold in the store. Plus, you can be sure that it is free of chemicals and toxins like other industrial fungicides.

3. To get rid of slugs
