How to Clean a Microfiber Sofa EASILY.
I love my microfiber sofa!
Dog hair does not stick and it is almost immaculate!
In addition, cleaning is quite simple!
But there is still a big drawback ...
Liquid stains leave beautiful halos on the fabric.
My daughter often spills her bottle on the sofa.
As for the dogs, they come and go all day long and put their wet paws on the sofa.
I thought those stains would never go away.
Fortunately, I found a magic trick to make them disappear. Look :
Equipment
- 1 white cloth
- alcohol at 70 °
- 1 vaporizer
- baby wipes
- 1 hard bristle brush
- 1 hairdryer (optional)
How to do
1. Put a little 70 ° alcohol in a spray bottle.
2. Spray on the sofa.
3. When the area is well moistened, take the white cloth and scrub the sofa. You will be removing all the dirt and grime from the sofa. This step allows you to see which stains are in fact water stains!
You can see the difference before and after cleaning below. As you can see, the dirt is gone but not the halos caused by the water spots:
4. And here is the magic part! I use baby wipes as a stain remover that I rub on sofa stains. It is important to scrub the sofa thoroughly until the stains are saturated with the product contained in the wipes. Otherwise, you will have to do it a second time.
5. To save time, take your hair dryer and dry the affected area. You can see what it looks like on the lower part of the cushion. Looks like the cushion is like new!
6. Once you've cleaned the entire sofa, take the stiff bristle brush and scrub the entire sofa to plump up the fabric.
Results
And There you go ! Your microfiber sofa has found a second youth :-)
In the photo above you can see on the left the part that has not been cleaned and on the right the clean part.
Bluffing the difference, isn't it?
No more dirt and water spots that made big halos!
You can do this cleaning every month for the regular maintenance of your microfiber sofa. No need for a steam cleaner or to put everything in the machine!
It's easier and just as effective to get a polyester sofa back.
