My kids love this game and just as much love helping me prepare the colors.

I know what you are going to say. Doing paint to paint on snow, it seems super complicated.

But in fact, it's very simple!

It’s really just water and food coloring.

And it’s super fun. I even think I had more fun than my daughter!

How to do

First of all, I bought these 6 small plastic gourds for a few euros.

I was looking for squeezable plastic bottles, you see like the ones you put ketchup in.

But ultimately the small gourds were much cheaper.

And I think we can reuse them for a picnic one day.

I think what my daughter liked the most was the food coloring.

She helped me a lot by counting the drops to put in each cup.

Plus, it's a great way for kids to learn to mix colors to get new ones.

To make the red, blue, yellow and green, I put 8 drops of coloring in each of the bottles filled with water.

To make the orange, you need 7 drops of yellow and 1 drop of red.

My purple turned out to be too dark. I used 5 drops of red and 3 drops of blue. But next time I will wear less blue.

We then took our bottles of paint and went out into the garden.

We had a great time! It looked like a color bomb had exploded in the garden but it was totally worth it :-)

Use

squeeze the bottle down

To paint on snow, just squeeze the bottle pointing downwards.

So it's easier to paint when you're on your knees.

I am not Picasso but… here is my work!

This activity kept us entertained for at least 30 minutes indoors and over an hour outdoors.

We could have stayed outside longer but the misses little fingers were turning purple from the cold.

It’s a fantastic winter activity and I’ll definitely do it again :-)
