A Raclette with the Family, Does it Cost Expensive? False !

What could be friendlier than a good raclette to bring together all your family or friends?

And contrary to popular belief, a raclette doesn't have to be very expensive.

Grison meat, coppa, raw ham ... When we think of raclette, we automatically think of charcuterie, which is far from the most affordable in stores.

However, organizing a raclette will not necessarily ruin you, rest assured!

how to make a raclette on a small budget, for € 7 per person

1. Buy the cheese by the cut

Start by buying the first basic ingredient: cheese.

For this step, don't be fooled by the pre-sliced packets, which are often much more expensive per kilo than cut cheese.

Opt for a classic raclette cheese, made with raw milk, generally displayed at around ten euros per kilo.

Don't hesitate to take a little more, there is nothing worse than running out of cheese at the end of the meal!

2. Bet on vegetables of all kinds

Then move on to potatoes, the star products of raclette! Again, think broad. I usually aim for four to five potatoes per person, even more if I have heavy eaters at dinner.

My tip for limiting deli purchases is to add other vegetables that are normally absent from a raclette: boiled zucchini, raw mushrooms cut into strips, chopped carrots and heads of broccoli.

I also serve a silly green salad, to break up a little with the fat of the cheese… and fill the stomachs at a lower cost!

3. Go for inexpensive charcuterie

Finally, for the charcuterie, I bet on the diversity of meats: white ham, of course, rosette and Strasbourg sausages for the classic economical charcuterie.

I also add chicken breast (cheap and very popular, especially the little ones!), Cured ham, slices of sausage and coppa.

I try most of the time to ignore the grison meat, which is overpriced by betting on a hideous lie like "oh, no, it's too stupid, I forgot to buy some …! ".

4. Don't forget the eggs and sides

One last tip: think of hard-boiled eggs. They will cost you around two euros for ten, and they go perfectly with melted cheese and salad!

Finally, when it comes to the side dish, don't forget the pickles and olives.

Savings made

There are 200 grams of cheese per person, is around 2 euros of cheese for each guest.

At six, you will therefore have for 15 euros by taking a little rab.

Potato level, with one kilo, you will easily feed a table of 6 people.

Count four zucchini, 250 g of mushrooms, a few carrots and heads of broccoli.

Is around 6 euros of vegetables.

For charcuterie, the most expensive item, you will turn around 15 to 20 euros if you take private label (a little more, obviously, if you are counting on major brands).

In the end, for six, your raclette will therefore cost you 40 euros maximum, or less than 8 euros per person.

Imagine, for the price of a McDonalds, you have a complete, balanced meal (thanks to the salad and various vegetables) and downright good.

In addition, you should even have leftovers, which will allow you to make a vegetable gratin covered with raclette or sandwiches for work.

On the other hand, you absolutely need a raclette machine to make your recipe. This one for 8 people is really cheap!
