14 Clever Ways to Reuse Cardboard Boxes.
Do you have lots of empty boxes and you don't know what to do with them?
With all the orders we make, it's true that the boxes stack up quickly!
But wait before you throw them away.
Did you know that your old boxes can still be very useful to you?
We have selected for you 14 new uses for empty boxes. Look :
1. Make a drawer divider
You will need some cardboard, a ruler, and a craft knife to easily make these drawer dividers.
First, measure the length of your drawer and write down these measurements on a piece of cardboard.
These lines will allow the boxes to be cut to the right dimensions.
You will create 2 sets of divider pieces: one for the length and one for the width of the drawer.
Then on each divider, make slits about 10 cm high at regular intervals.
Using the slots as a guide, assemble the strips into cardboard boxes and place them in your drawer.
And there you have it, you have finished your drawer divider.
2. Make a donation to an association
Fill your old boxes with items you no longer want. Then drop them off at Secours Populaire or at Emmaüs. Know that Emmaus can also come and collect objects and boxes from your home. Just contact them and make an appointment.
3. Feed the birds
Your kids will love participating in this little craft. And they'll be delighted to watch the birds enjoying their homemade feeder.
First you have to cut pieces of cardboard in the shape you want, for example a heart.
Then make small holes for a string or rope to slip through. Spread peanut butter on both sides of your piece of cardboard.
Spread the seeds on a plate and put in your piece of cardboard covered with peanut butter. The seeds will stick to the cardboard. Hang it in a tree. And that's all ! You can also make a bird feeder with a toilet paper roll. Check out the trick here.
4. Make a paint palette
It's a lot more fun than using a cardboard plate and it allows you to recycle old cardboard.
5. Make coasters
Cut the cardboard into circles or squares. Then cover it with decorative tape.
6. Protect the floor
Put pieces of cardboard under the legs of your furniture before moving them. This will prevent scratches on the floor.
7. Spray paint without putting it everywhere
8. Make a kennel for the cat
Thread an old T-shirt over a cardboard box, so the neck opening lines up with the box opening.
Tuck the sleeves inside, against the box. This will make the sides sharper. Then show your cat their new, comfortable kennel. Check out the trick here. And while you're at it, you can also make a cardboard toy for her that your cat will love. Check out the trick here.
9. Make a collapsible hut
I don't know what your home is like ... but my kids love to play with cardboard boxes. Make it a foldable play space for easy storage. The fun of playing will last even longer like this.
You need 2 cardboard boxes, duct tape and a craft knife to make this little cardboard house.
1. Prevent the flaps of a large cardboard box from folding up by putting duct tape. Put tape inside and outside the box. This part will be used to make the floor of the hut.
2. Then cut one of the longest sides of the box. This is where we will put the roof. Save the cardboard you just cut. You will need it to make the roof.
3. Take another large box. Using the piece of cardboard you just removed as a guide, measure and cut out a second piece of roof from the new box.
Tape the 2 roof pieces together and attach them to the frame of your cabin (the first box).
5. To make the cabin easily foldable, cut the back of the box, the bottom and the bottom edge, according to the dotted lines below.
6. Lay the box flat on the floor and securely fasten the vertical cutouts you just made at the back and bottom. Do not glue the horizontal bottom edge, otherwise the box will not fold properly.
Open the hut to stand it up and reinforce the interior (back and bottom only) with duct tape.
You may need to add a few pieces of duct tape to keep the cabin upright. And that's all !
Now let your children's imaginations do their work.
