Buying Movie Posters: My Technique To Get Them Free!
Do you think movie posters are too expensive? I found a way to get them for free! Like a good movie buff, you can put them up in your room without buying them.
How to do ?
One Tuesday, while strolling in the street without aim or direction, I passed in front of the small neighborhood cinema Apollo in Pontault-Combault. I walked in like that, and started talking to the only guy in the room. It must have been 10 p.m.
He was changing the movie posters. My walls being way too white for my taste, I asked him if I could take these old posters that he was going to throw away.
There he handed me a huge poster of The Housemaid, and explained to me that most of the time they destroy obsolete posters. However, since I sympathized with him, he gave it to me with a big smile as a bonus!
So if you're there at the right time, all you have to do is ask and serve yourself! My big empty and gloomy wall was colored by this superb poster of The Housemaid.
The little tips
Subsequently, I tried in big cinemas like the UGC des Halles, but it was kindly explained to me that normally, they are not allowed to give away these posters. From now on, I always turn to small cinemas, neighborhood cinemas, or art house.
Most of the time they are quite pleasant. I only show a little interest in the seventh art, and their programming. In addition, it is the festival of the cinema! So take advantage, the managers are even more open to discussion.
In addition, having sympathized with the boss of my small neighborhood cinema, I have the right to a nice poster from time to time and to stimulating discussions! He also told me that he changed their schedule on Wednesdays, and that to pick up the posters you have to be there on Tuesday around 10 or 11 p.m. (that's where they throw the obsolete posters).
That said, I have already left empty-handed several times, this technique is not infallible. But it doesn't cost the theaters anything to give you these posters and some of their time, so they're generally nice to me.

Savings made
There are posters everywhere and at all prices. For the little ones it starts at 5 €, and the large formats at least 15 € (like the one I was given, which you can see here). How do you find it?
