Is your bike in need of a cleanup?

Whether you have a mountain bike, road or electric bike, dust and mud are encrusted everywhere ...

Especially after an outing in the forest or in the rain! But no need to take out the Kärcher!

Fortunately, a cycling friend told me about his efficient trick to clean a very dirty bike without getting tired in 5 minutes flat.

The pro tip is use a mixture of baking soda and lemon. Look :

What you need

- 1/2 glass of baking soda

- 1/2 glass of squeezed lemon juice

- 5 liters of hot water

- small bucket

- microfiber cloth

How to do

1. Fill the bucket with hot water.

2. Put the half-glass of baking soda in it.

3. Pour in half a glass of lemon juice.

4. Mix well.

5. Dip the microfiber cloth into the mixture.

6. Pass it all over the bike from top to bottom: handlebars, saddle, bell, frame, luggage rack, fender, brake, pedals, spokes and rims.

7. Rinse the bike with a garden hose.

Results

And there you have it, you've cleaned your entire bike in 5 minutes with baking soda :-)

Easy, fast and efficient, isn't it?

And we can hardly do more economical!

In addition, there is no risk of damaging the skin of your hands with this natural product.

Additional advice

This cleaning tip works for all types of bikes: mountain bikes, Decathlon Btwin bikes, road bikes, city bikes, racing bikes, mountain bikes, aluminum or old bikes.

You can even use this homemade product for cleaning your e-bike or stationary.

If you don't have a microfiber cloth, you can buy a cleaning kit to have a nickel bike!

Bonus tip

If you have a motorcycle or moped, you can also clean them with your homemade cleaning product.

And no risk of scratching your motorcycle: it is a gentle and effective cleaner.

Why does it work?

Thanks to its acidity, lemon, like vinegar, is an excellent degreaser for cleaning a bicycle.

As it dissolves grease, you can even clean the chain and small rust spots.

Don't forget to wipe dry and lubricate the chain with a W40 type cleaner.

The cleaning properties of bicarbonate are well established. It is a gentle and effective abrasive that loosens dirt, mud and dust easily.

But since the baking soda is very fine, it does not scratch the surface of the bike or motorcycle.
