3. Eliminate cockroaches

Place a shallow dish or bowl containing half the sugar and baking soda. Cockroaches are attracted to sugar, but mixing it with baking soda is deadly to them.

4. Remove grease stains from a carpet

Sprinkle baking soda on the greasy stains on your carpet and let sit for about 1 hour. Gently scrub with a damp sponge or brush, then vacuum to remove any remaining dirt.

5. Absorb moisture

Keep an open container of baking soda in your tool cabinet to absorb moisture that could rust your tools, such as a saw, hammer, or pliers.
