3 Economic Tips for Brushing Your Cat Properly.
Cats, we love it!
As long as you brush them regularly.
Because the hairs you find all over your house and the cat who chokes on disgusting spitting balls ... yuck!
There are many drawbacks to not brushing your cat regularly.
But between the exorbitantly priced brushes, and the ones that cut your cat's hair, not everyone knows how to find the perfect brush.
Fortunately, there are economical tips for brushing your cat properly. Look.
1. The washing-up glove
We all have it at home, and we don't necessarily think about using it. And yet he saved me when I didn't have a brush yet and my cat had just arrived!
You just have to:
- put on his washing-up glove.
- moisten it a little bit.
- stroke your cat with it!
Bonus : sometimes it works better when you stroke against the grain, but some cats are pointing, so be careful!
2. The hairbrush & tights duo
As with the dishwashing mitt, you don't always think about using it! And for good reason, we don't really want to share our brush with the cat's hair. But now we can!
You just have to:
- take your usual hairbrush.
- put on an old pantyhose nylon top, so as to cover the brush.
- brush your cat with it!
Double bonus : it also works with dogs! And the same old pantyhose can also be used for dusting.
3. Choose a good brush
If you still want to invest in a grooming brush, my first advice is NOT to buy it from pet stores, or pet supply stores.
They are sold there at incredible prices, so you can find them much cheaperon specialized sites like Zooplus.
Then pay close attention to the brush itself and not the price! The most expensive isn't always the best, and the cheapest won't always be the worst.
Choose according to your expectations and the shape of the brush:
- to simply brush your cat and remove some rare hairs, take a bristle brush, or a so-called "soft" brush, or even brushing gloves.
- for a cat that is losing its hair a lot, use a harder brush, with closer stems that will better catch hair, dust, and possibly parasites that may lodge there.
Finally, if you find that the brush is removing an unusually high amount of hair, give it a try, or better yet, try one of my two techniques suggested above!
So you now have all the elements in hand to properly brush your cat, without spending a fortune, because a brush can cost up to 50 €!
