Once you've got the ingredients together, your product is ready in less than a minute.
Ingredients
Glass cleaner requires few ingredients:
- 50 ml of white vinegar (apple cider vinegar is also effective)
- 50 ml of 90 ° alcohol
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch type Maïzena.
(Warning: this ingredient is important. Starch is the agent that removes traces on the windows.)
- 400 ml of water
- Optional: to flavor your product, you can also add 8-10 drops of your favorite essential oil.
We recommend the essential oils of citrus fruits (lemon, orange, bergamot). But you can also add lavender essential oil, for example.
How to do
1. Pour all the ingredients into a spray bottle.
(To save even more money, we recommend reusing the bottle of your old window cleaner!)
2. Shake vigorously.
3. Spray the product on the glass.
4. Clean with a dry cloth or newspaper.
Results
And there you have it, your glass is nickel and without any trace :-)
Usage tips
- You can use this product on several types of surfaces: windows, mirrors, glass objects, stainless steel, chrome, aluminum, ceramics and plastic.
But be careful: never use products that contain vinegar on marble surfaces! This is because vinegar can eat into the surface of the marble.
- Shake the bottle well before each use. This is to prevent the cornstarch from clogging the nozzle of your vaporizer.
- Are you allergic to corn? No problem: you can replace the cornstarch with tapioca flour (not to be confused with tapioca seeds).
- To clean your surfaces, use microfiber cloths (because they are reusable).
You can also make your own rags from old clothes.
Otherwise, you can use newspaper.
(The idea is to avoid using paper towels - it's a huge waste.)
- Last tip: you can also add food coloring to your product. So your children will immediately see that it is not water!
If you don't have food coloring on hand, use canned beet juice.

Most of these ingredients are easily found in supermarkets. But remember to recycle as much as possible. For example, you can recycle a spray bottle from an old window product: economical and ecological;)
