Lemons are refreshing and great for your health!

Every morning I drink a fresh lemon juice in a glass of water to stimulate my digestive system.

I also use it for the manufacture of my cleaning products.

But after using the juice, what to do with the lemon peel?

Instead of throwing it in the trash, there are plenty of amazing uses that no one knows about!

here is 32 uses of lemon peel that will get your teeth into your mouth :

1. Extract the zest

Lemon zest is useful for your pastries or for certain sweet / savory dishes. Extract the zest from your lemon peels with a zester and freeze it. That way, you will always have it on hand!

2. Prepare lemon pepper

It is one of my favorite seasonings for grills and fish. It's great for marinades and really easy to make. The recipe here.

3. Make candied lemon peels

4. Prepare lemon sugar

5. Scent your olive oil

Give your olive oil a delicious lemon flavor by putting lemon rinds directly into the oil. Leave to macerate for several days. And There you go !

6. Make your lemon extract yourself

I didn't think I could do it on my own so easily. Yet it is extremely simple and super economical. And I always have some on hand for my pastries. For this, you need lemon peels and a strong alcohol such as vodka. The recipe here.

7. Scent your ice cubes

Put some lemon zest in the ice cube mold, add the water and put in the freezer. Perfect for summer drinks: ice cubes gradually diffuse their lemony taste in your drink.

9. Prevent brown sugar from hardening

Boil the lemon peels for several minutes and let cool completely then strain the mixture. Add 70 ml of cow's milk or almond milk, 2 tablespoons of cold pressed olive oil and a few drops of lemon essential oil. Soak your feet in this mixture for about 20 min. Then dry them well by patting them with a towel. Your feet are now very soft. And it also works for corns and calluses.

14. Scent the house

Boil lemon peels to scent your whole house for free instead of buying chemical air fresheners that cost an arm and a leg! You can also add cloves, cinnamon sticks and orange peels for a little wintery note.

15. Descale the kettle and coffee maker

To descale your kettle, fill it with water and add a handful of thin slices of lemon peel. Boil, turn off and let sit for an hour, then rinse. It is the same principle as with white vinegar.

16. Clean the coffee grinder

In the mill, put lemon zest, ice and salt. Spin it all around for a minute or two, then empty and rinse.

17. Sanitize your cutting board

To clean the microwave quickly and easily, place lemon rinds in a bowl half filled with water. Turn the oven on at full power for 5 min, allowing the water to boil and the steam to condense on the walls of the oven. Remove the hot bowl (carefully!) 21. Prepare scented fire lighters

By burning the lemon zest until it turns black, you will create natural and fragrant fire starters. Perfect for getting the fire going faster and for delicious grilling in the summer!

22. Perfume your cupboards

Dry lemon zest (in the sun or in a dehydrator) and place them inside fabric bags. Add any spices of your choice (cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg or cardamom). Then, place the sachets in your cupboards or drawers to perfume them.

23. Make steel and brass shine

If your knife blades are blackened, sprinkle a little sea salt on the metal, then use the lemon zest to remove any dirt, grime, or stains. Rinse and polish! It works for steel, copper or chrome.

24. Make a skin scrub

These brown spots on the hands are not very pretty. Fortunately, they can be alleviated with this grandmother's remedy. Apply a small piece of lemon peel to the affected area and leave it on for 1 hour. On the other hand, no exposure to the sun after application, because lemon is photosensitive.

28. Soften dry skin

Use half a lemon sprinkled with baking soda on elbows, heels, or anywhere the skin is dry or hard. Place your elbow in the lemon and twist the lemon (as if you were squeezing it) for several minutes. Rinse and pat dry.
