The Ultra Easy Baby Cleansing Wipes Recipe.

It's been almost 4 years since I discovered how to make my own baby wipes.

The big advantage is that I can also use them as makeup removing wipes!

Considering the number of wipes you need to use to clean baby, you will save a lot of money!

Plus, you probably have everything you need at home to make these wipes.

Here's how to make baby cleansing wipes.

These wipes will also save you a trip to the supermarket let alone the fact that you know exactly what ingredients you put in it.

It is still important because you will be applying these wipes on your skin and baby's!

Many parents ignore it, but many commercial cleaning wipes contain phenoxyethanol, a chemical not recommended by health authorities!

Even if you buy wipes that are suitable for sensitive skin or made with natural products, some of their ingredients can irritate your skin.

But with this homemade recipe, I'm proud to tell you that I can pronounce ALL the names of the ingredients :-)

In 4 years, the number of times my 3 children have had a rash can be counted on the fingers of one hand - and I'm sure these homemade wipes have something to do with it!

I can tell you that I have tested a lot of different recipes and ingredients but today I reveal to you the one that works best. Look :

What you need

- 2 food boxes

- 1 paper towel roll

- 1 liter of demineralized or purified water

- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

To make baby wipes yourself:

- a few drops of gel without organic soap for babies or organic cleansing gel

To make make-up removing wipes yourself:

- a few drops of organic cleansing water or organic cleansing gel

1. Get two plastic food boxes

You need 2 plastic food boxes to make your homemade baby wipes.

To make these baby wipes, I used the 2 plastic boxes in the photo above. Both are good, but I prefer the one on the right because I can easily open it with one hand, thanks to its 4-click system.

For me, the most effective brand of paper towels is the “Custom” paper towel. The pieces of paper are pre-cut into half sheets, which helps to not spending too many wipes for nothing.

Plus, unlike most other brands, these paper towels don't have that annoying tendency to tear.

Granted, quality paper towels cost a bit more. But if you only use them to make your homemade wipes, they are only yours. € 1.50 per box - it's much cheaper than commercial wipes!

2. Cut the paper towel roll in half

Use paper towel to make baby cleansing wipes.

Using a large, sharp, toothless knife, cut the paper towel roll in half, taking care to remove any small fluff from the ends of each half.

If you don't have a sharp knife, you can use a serrated knife (like a bread knife). The concern is that these types of knives produce more lint, so be sure to clean the paper towel thoroughly after cutting.

3. Add demineralized water

Use deionized water to make baby cleansing wipes.

For each box of wipes, you need 50 cl of demineralized water or purified water.

Once the water has been added to the can, use a permanent marker to make a line that indicates the water level. Next time, you will waste less time measuring the amount of water you need.

Make a line on your box of baby cleansing wipes.

If you are preparing 2 boxes of wipes at a time, I recommend that you prepare your mixture in a large glass measuring bowl.

4. Add one to two tablespoons of coconut oil

Use coconut oil to make homemade baby cleansing wipes.

The temperature for coconut oil to be liquid is 25 ° C, which means it stays solid below this temperature (much like dietary fat).

To melt the coconut oil, put the desired amount in a saucepan and add a little water. Then, heat everything over low heat, until the coconut oil melts (at 25 ° C, it will melt quickly).

Once melted, add the coconut oil to the deionized water and stir.

Why use coconut oil?

Coconut oil has many benefits.

Because this natural oil is antibacterial, antimicrobial and also antifungal. In addition, it also has powerful moisturizing properties to have soft skin.

Finally, let's not forget that coconut oil smells great! I have been using coconut oil in place of skin creams or lotions for a long time. I promise you that its effectiveness is astounding!

5. Add a dose of soap-free baby gel

Put soap-free baby gel in the homemade baby wipes mixture.

add a single dose of soap-free baby gel to the mixture, using the pump from the bottle, then gently stir the mixture.

If a single dose does not seem sufficient to you, know that when you use wipes, you do not rinse the skin afterwards as you would after a shower. So if you add too much gel, your wipes will leave residue on the skin.

I highly recommend that you use a soap-free baby gel suitable for sensitive skin and 100% organic like this one.

Pay close attention to the brand you choose. Indeed, most soap-free gels are stuffed with chemicals, substances that can be harmful to baby's soft skin!

With just 1 dose of cleansing gel per box of homemade wipes, you not only save money, but above all you protect your skin and that of your baby from a rash. So, on closer inspection, it makes sense to invest in a quality soap-free gel.

6. Pour about 50 cl of mixture into each box

To make homemade baby cleansing wipes, soak the paper towels in a cleaning solution.

7. Place the paper towel rolls in each box, cut side down.

Making baby cleansing wipes is easy.

Maybe your boxes are wider than mine. But if not, don't panic! Even if my boxes seem too small, I promise you that it is not a problem and that the result will be perfect ;-)

8. Use the lid of the boxes to crush the paper towel roll, then close the boxes.

The easy recipe for baby cleansing wipes.

You see ? I told you: the box closes nickel chrome! Turn your boxes upside down (you can stack them as in the photo above) and let the Paper towel soak up the mixture, for about 5 min.

9. Remove the cardboard tube in the middle of the Paper towel.

The easy tutorial of cleaning wipes for babies.

After 5 min, put the boxes right side up and open them (you see, the Paper towel has remained compact!). Then remove the cardboard roll in the middle of each paper towel.

Do not attempt to remove the cardboard rolls BEFORE this step! Wait until the paper towel is quite wet, it avoids putting it everywhere ...
