1. Disinfects the cutting board
A poorly cleaned cutting board is a breeding ground for bacteria.
Here's how to thoroughly disinfect it (and without chemicals):
- With a scrub brush, wash your cutting board with soapy water. Then rinse it off.
- Then, pour a generous amount of hydrogen peroxide on your board.
- Also pour a little white vinegar.
- Let the mixture sit on your board for 10 min. Then rinse.
2. Disinfects fruits and vegetables
If the idea of having bacteria on fruits and vegetables hates you, here's the solution:
- Prepare a spray of hydrogen peroxide.
- Use this sprayer to moisten your fruits and vegetables.
- Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse and dry.
3. Disinfects sponges
Do your sponges have an unpleasant smell? Before you throw them away, try this trick:
- In a container, prepare a mixture of equal parts of hot water and hydrogen peroxide.
- Soak your sponges in this mixture for 15 min.
- Then rinse thoroughly.

- Prepare a mixture of equal parts hydrogen peroxide and liquid detergent.
- Then pour this mixture on the stain.

- Finally, rinse with hot water and let dry.
5. Removes yellow spots under the arms
When you sweat, you can end up with annoying spots under your arms. Here is an effective tip to get rid of it:
- Prepare a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and washing up liquid (1 volume of washing up liquid for 2 volumes of hydrogen peroxide).
- Pour this mixture on the stain. Leave to rest for 1 hour.
- Then rinse with cold water.
6. Removes blood stains
Hydrogen peroxide has powerful bleaching properties.
Hence, it is useful in getting rid of blood stains on clothes.
- Pour the hydrogen peroxide directly onto the blood stain and leave to act for 5 min.
- Dab with a towel to soak up the hydrogen peroxide.
- Then rinse with cold water.
If your stain does not go away right away, repeat these steps 1 or 2 times, until the stain is gone completely.
But beware: hydrogen peroxide is a bleach (although light). Be careful not to bleach the surface!
7. Removes stains from tile and stone
Regardless of the origin of the stain, hydrogen peroxide works wonderfully on tiles and stone. Here's how to do it:
- Prepare a thick dough with flour and hydrogen peroxide.
- Apply this paste to the stain.
- Let this mixture sit overnight (it works even better if you cover the surface with stretch film).
- Finally, carefully remove the dough the next day.
8. Fight colds
Here's a grandma's remedy that may sound weird - but it really does help with colds.
The results are surprising!
The trick is to pour a few drops of hydrogen peroxide into your ears.
For this to work, you need to lay your head horizontally - so that the hole in your ear is pointing upwards.
If you hear a crackling noise, don't be alarmed. This is completely normal.
When there is no more noise (it takes between 5 and 10 min), empty the liquid onto a tissue.
9. Mouthwash
Hydrogen peroxide is particularly effective as a mouthwash.
- Dilute hydrogen peroxide with water, in equal parts.

But be careful: do not swallow hydrogen peroxide.
