Halloween: How To Make Spider Webs Out Of Garbage Bags (Easy & Quick).
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year!
First of all, it's a great excuse to eat tons of candy.
But above all, I love to transform the house into a scary place.
The more large hairy spiders, the better.
The concern is that buying Halloween decorations is not cheap!
Fortunately, you can make awesome cobwebs to decorate the house without spending a round!
Everything you need, it's garbage bags! Look, it's quick and easy to do:
They really look too cool on a window, especially if you add a few small plastic spiders next to them.
Since you can make 2 cobwebs in one garbage bag, you will only need one or two garbage bags to complete this project.
What you need
- 2 garbage bags
- 1 gold marker
- masking tape
- a pair of scissors
How to do
1. Cut out both sides and the bottom of the garbage bag to make a rectangle. Hold the two rectangles on top of each other so that you can cut both at the same time.
2. Fold the two rectangles to make triangles and cut off the excess to get a perfect square.
3. Fold the plastic sheets to make a triangle, then fold again into another smaller triangle.
4. Now fold the plastic sheets again to make a cone. You will have excess plastic at the bottom.
5. Put tape on the open side of the bag. Choose easy-to-remove tape such as masking tape.
6. Cut the excess plastic at the bottom of the cone into a curved shape that will resemble the outside edges of the spider web.
7. Use a gold permanent marker to draw the design shown below.
Basically, you draw long, thick rectangles, slightly curved, to conform to the half-moon shape of the bottom of the plastic bag.
8. Cut out your marks then remove the offcuts.
9. Unfold the bags and separate them to reveal two cobwebs.
Results
And there you have it, your cobwebs made in trash bags are already ready :-)
Easy, quick and awesome for Halloween, right?
Hang them on the wall or on a window with transparent tape.
I can tell you that your kids and the whole family will love it!
Additional advice
- Make cobwebs of different sizes to hang them together on the wall or on a window.
- Draw two or three spiders with markers or card stock and place them on the webs.
- If possible, I recommend taking thin bags with a grainy texture. Shiny bags have a tendency to slip too much when cut.
