The Easy Homemade Twix Recipe.
I don't know about you, but the Twix is one of my favorite candy bars.
This caramel and crispy shortbread make me melt. So melt that I always find them too small.
And a bit expensive to buy.
To be able to make them when I want, the size I want (tiny or downright giant), the best is to have a homemade recipe.
Well, this recipe exists!
Ingredients for 4 persons
For the shortbread:
- 100 g of soft butter
- 50 g of sugar
- 150 g of flour
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
For the caramel:
- 1 can of 400 g of sweetened condensed milk
- 50 g of sugar
- 1 C. to s. honey
- 50 g of butter
For the chocolate topping:
- 180 g of dark or milk chocolate (your choice)
How to do
Start with the shortbread:
1. Mix the butter with the sugar and the vanilla sugar.
2. Gradually add the salt and flour, stirring well.
3. Spread this dough on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
4. Bake for about 30 minutes at 150 ° C. It must remain white.
To make the caramel:
1. In a saucepan, over low heat, combine the butter and the sweetened condensed milk.
2. Add the other ingredients and mix again.
3. Maintain low heat and mix for a long time.
4. Mix until you obtain a colored caramel-colored dough, a little thick and elastic.
5. When it's ready, spread it still hot on your shortbread dough.
6. Let cool.
To make the chocolate topping:
1. Melt your chocolate in a saucepan over low heat, stirring.
2. When it has melted, let it cool for 5 minutes.
3. Pour it over the caramel shortbread.
4. When everything has set and the chocolate is cold, then cut your shortbread into pieces of the size you want.
Results
Yum ! You can now feast on homemade Twix :-)
