The Simple and Quick Recipe for Mulled Wine with Spices.
Mulled wine is a traditional drink that we enjoy in fall and winter.
It is everywhere on Christmas markets, for example, especially in Alsace.
The mulled wine is delicious in its spiced version.
And, besides, the recipe for preparing it is very simple.
Ingredients for 1 liter
- 1 liter of red wine (preferably from Bordeaux)
- 150 g of powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons of powdered ginger
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder
- 2 vanilla pods
- a few cinnamon sticks
- 1 nutmeg
- optional: a few slices of orange or lemon
How to do
1. In a saucepan, bring the wine to a boil.
2. Off the heat, add the powdered sugar and mix.
3. Add the cinnamon and powdered ginger.
4. Grate the nutmeg on top of your preparation.
5. Put back on the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
6. Then add the cinnamon sticks and the vanilla pods.
7. Put a lid on and let steep for 20 minutes.
8. Serve the mulled wine in decorated cups with a cinnamon stick and if desired a lemon or orange slice.
Results
And there you have it, a delicious mulled wine with spices. Drink in moderation :-).
