My Homemade Margherita Pizza Recipe for Less than € 1 per Person!
A good homemade pizza?
Nothing to say, its flavor is unique and has nothing to do with those we buy frozen or vacuum-packed.
The best we eat are often in Italian restaurants, but it's not a really economical solution.
So, here is a recipe for margherita pizza, homemade, less than € 1 per person, easy to make and worthy of a real pizza maker!
1. I prepare the pizza dough
Ingredients for 4 persons
- 30 g of baker's yeast: at € 9.52 per kilo, i.e. € 0.29
- 800 g of flour: at € 0.95 per kilo, i.e. € 0.76
- 35 ml olive oil
- 400 ml of water
- 15 g fine salt
The cost
Either a homemade pizza dough coming back to me at 0,26 €per person or € 1.04 for 4 people.
Preparation: 20 min - Standing time: minimum 2 h
1. Mix the yeast in 400 ml of lukewarm water.
2. Then pour the flour and salt on a work surface through a sieve to avoid lumps. Make a well in the heap of flour.
3. Pour into the well, the olive oil and the 400 ml of water containing the yeast. Use a fork to mix the flour with the water.
4. Place the dough in a bowl or on a cutting board.
5. The dough will swell.
6. Once it has doubled in size, form a ball and spread it on baking paper with a floured rolling pin.
7. Give it a disc shape with a diameter of about 30 cm.
8. Let the dough rest for at least 2 hours.
There you go, your dough is now ready to be filled!
