My Free Awale Game to Make in 5 minutes.

On weekends, we have to keep our dear darlings busy! So while we do, let's put aside our "imperatives" and build together this easy-to-achieve strategy game.
I will show you how to make an awale game in 3 minutes. Why not make it for free instead of buying it?
Of African origin, awalé is played with family, friends or with children. It occupies the rainy afternoons and puts a smile on your face.
Materials to make an awale
- 1 cardboard box of 12 eggs
- 2 x 35 cm of flat elastic 0.5 cm in width (elastic type of panties)
- 2 large beads (wood or plastic)
- acrylic paint (colors according to your tastes)
- 1 brush
- 1 sharp pencil
- 1 tube of universal glue
- 48 dried beans (or beans, chickpeas, marbles etc.)
How to do
1. Mark the middle of the width of the egg carton and draw a light line with a pencil along its entire length.
2. Using scissors, cut the lid of the egg carton from end to end in the middle.
3. Glue this half of the cover along its entire length on the other side of the box, so that it is symmetrical to the part that has remained hooked, as in the photo below:
4. Paint the box the color of your choice.
A closing system
5. Pass a bead through each of the 2 pieces of elastic. Fold them in 2 and pass one through the 2nd and one through the 4th cone (in the tip) from the inside of the egg carton (use the tip of scissors, a needle or 'a pencil) and tie the ends individually UNDER the box.
These elastics will allow you to close the box by passing them over the box once closed. The bead will allow the elastic not to come off when the box is opened. In addition, it is pretty!
But if you are in a hurry you can skip this step and start playing right away :-)
To play...
Put 4 beans (or 4 marbles) in each cell of your awale and PLAY!

When playing, the open half-lids will allow you to lay your crops. To store it, you will close your awalé by folding down these same half-lids and pass the rubber bands around.
Slide the beads onto the box if you wish or leave them below. As you wish !
You can also varnish your awale. It will thus be even more resistant.
Savings made
I noticed that the average price of awalés is around 20 €.
You are already saving 20 € but if you are going to organize tournaments ... how many awalés will you need?
