Making Shoe Polish Yourself is Possible!

Commercial shoe polishes are expensive and not always very effective, nor pleasant to use.

So how about a good old-fashioned shoe polish that you make yourself?

If that sounds like you, here is my recipe.

Not very complicated to prepare, it is magical and you will soon be able to do without it. Look :

white beeswax for shoe polish

Ingredients

- 75 g of beeswax

- 25 g of white beeswax

- 60 cl of turpentine

- 25 g of soap flakes

- 15 g of essential oil of your choice (orange, lemon, grapefruit, lavender, for example)

- 60 cl of boiling water

glitter soap

How to do

1. At bain-marie, mix waxes and turpentine over low heat (and especially not directly in a saucepan because these ingredients are flammable and the bain-marie is a safe method of cooking in this case).

2. During this time, pour your soap flakes in boiling water and stir until the soap is completely dissolved in the water.

3. When the water / soap mixture has cooled, add it to the melted waxes and stir well so that a emulsion.

4. Pour in your essential oils and stir to obtain a good mixture homogeneous.

5. Fill a bottle with it (the mixture is liquid enough so that you can use this kind of container) that you will close well so that your mixture does not evaporate. You can keep it for several months, like real shoe polish.
