How to resist in front of a nice plate of fries?

It is a universal support that makes us all crack from a very young age.

It's true, it's sometimes easier to open your freezer and put your frozen fries in a deep fryer than to peel 1 kg of potatoes.

But you will still be a winner on the whole line by cooking at home.

Savings, flavors and diversity of recipes guaranteed!

natural fries in the deep fryer

1. Plain fries in the deep fryer

Ingredientsfor 6 persons

- 1 kg of potatoes, Bintje type (floury, they will offer you crispy and tender fries): € 1.60 per kilo

- 1 liter of peanut oil: € 2.30

- Salt

Preperation

1. I wash, peel the potatoes and cut them in the shape of fries (thin or larger as you wish!) Of the same thickness.

2. I then rinse them under a stream of cold water to remove as much starch as possible.

3. I dry them in a tea towel before plunging them into my deep fryer heated to 150 ° for 5 to 6 minutes.

4. I take them out of my fryer, drain them and plunge them again into my fryer at 180 ° for 3 min.

5. I put them on absorbent paper to remove excess oil and dirty them.

By respecting these 2 cooking steps, you will obtain golden and crispy fries at will! Use a peanut oil that you will change every five to six frying baths.

Cost of my recipe : € 1.60 for 6 people knowing that I will use my oil about 6 times. I will only have my potatoes left to buy for the next fries, an expense of € 0.26 for 1 person or € 1.60 for 6 people.

In the store, 1 kg of frozen fries costs me on average 2 € and we are far from the flavor of my homemade fries!

2. Baked potatoes with a touch of paprika

Ingredients for 6 people

- 1 kg of potatoes, Bintje type: € 1.60 per kilo

- 2 teaspoons of sweet paprika

- 3 tablespoons of olive oil

2. In a large bowl, I pour my olive oil, my paprika and I add my potatoes.

3. I mix everything well and let marinate for 30 min.

4. I preheat my oven to 210 ° (thermostat 7) and place a sheet of baking paper on the baking sheet of my oven.

5. I have my potatoes without overlapping them and put them in the oven for 30 min.

6. I dirty before serving.

If you like spicy dishes, add an extra teaspoon of paprika and a little garlic when preparing your marinade.

You can also decline this recipe by sprinkling your potatoes with Provence herbs!

Cost of my recipe : 10 g of paprika at € 46.50 per kilo or € 0.47 and € 1.60 of potatoes, or a recipe coming back to me at € 0.34 for 1 person or even € 2.07 for 6 people.

In stores, 1 kg of spicy frozen fries costs me at least 2.50 €.

3. Sweet potato fries without frying

Ingredients for 6 people

- 1 kg of sweet potatoes: € 3.90 per kilo (potato rich in vitamin A, its flesh much sweeter than that of traditional potatoes adapts very well to all types of cooking).

3. I arrange my fries on a sheet of baking paper, avoiding that they overlap.

4. I sprinkle them with fleur de sel and put them in the oven for 25 minutes, watching their cooking.

As with baked potatoes, garnish your sweet potatoes with spices before placing them in the oven: cumin, curry or even sweet pepper!

Cost of my recipe : 1 kg of sweet potatoes for € 3.90, enough to delight your table for three times nothing! Support for me at € 0.65 per person or even € 3.90 for 6 guests.

Frozen sweet potatoes are hard to find in stores, and even if you have a lucky hand, there's no way they can match my home-made dish!

3. I sprinkle them with olive oil and sprinkle them with Parmesan.
