Fortunately, there are some super effective tips for removing foot odor from shoes.

1. Household alcohol

An effective trick is to prepare a spray with 1.5 dl of household alcohol, 3.5 dl of water and 5 drops of lemon essential oil.

Just spray when the smell appears and let it dry.

2. Boric acid

Boric acid is sold in pharmacies. It is well known for removing odor from shoes.

Mix it with talc. Rub the insole of your shoes with this mixture. Then, pour a thick layer of it into the shoes and let sit overnight.

3. Baking soda

Baking soda, too, removes shoe odors. Pour a thick layer of the baking soda and talcum powder inside your shoes.

Leave it on overnight and, after removing the baking-talcum mixture, gently rub your insoles.

4. Borax

Borax powder naturally deodorizes. Sprinkle the inside of your shoes and rub a little. Leave on for at least 2 hours before throwing in the borax powder.

5. The cold

Did you know that the cold can neutralize the bacteria responsible for bad odors in your shoes?

Put your shoes in a plastic freezer-type bag, tightly closed, and leave your shoes overnight in the fridge.

6. Hydroalcoholic gel

The hydroalcoholic gel is the one we use for hand hygiene. It can also be very useful for deodorizing shoes.

Apply the gel directly to the inside of the shoes using a cloth. Leave on for 1 or 2 hours then pass another cloth soaked in water. Wipe with another dry cloth this time.

7. Alum stone

Alum stone is a very good deodorant. But it can also naturally deodorize our shoes. It is antiseptic and antibacterial.

Just rub the inside of the shoes directly with the stone.

8. Tea tree essential oil

The essential oil of tea tree is disinfectant and deodorant. The trick is to mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 3 tablespoons of hot water and 4 drops of tea tree essential oil.

To use it, you can either soak a cloth or use a spray. Simply soak up the inside of your shoes.

Leave to dry. Then pour talcum powder before wiping with a dry cloth.

9. Lemon essential oil

Blends of essential oils are very ingenious for our shoe odors.

This one: 8 drops of palmarosa + 8 drops of lemongrass + 8 drops of lemongrass + 8 drops of lemon, disinfects your shoes, leaving them with a good fresh and lemony scent.

Pour this mixture onto a microfiber cloth or a clean sponge moistened with hot water. Rub the inside of the shoes. Leave to dry.

10. White vinegar

As always, white vinegar can help, too. Soak a cloth and rub the inside of the shoes. Leave to dry.

If you want to intensify the sanitizing side of the trick, you can mix the vinegar with baking soda.

Then pour 1 tablespoon of baking soda into a container. Put on a little white vinegar and let it foam for a few moments.

With gloves on, rub hard inside your shoes with a sponge soaked in this mixture. Leave to dry.
