How To Make An Insect Trap For Fruit Trees (Easy & Effective).
Nothing better than having a fruit tree in your garden!
The only concern is that insects are used to pouncing on the fruit before we have time to harvest them ...
They nibble them by making small holes in them, which makes them rot ...
Fortunately, there is an effective and easy-to-make trap to protect your fruit trees from insects.
The trick is to mix white vinegar, sugar and a banana peel in a bottle. Look :
What you need
- 1 glass of white vinegar
- 200 g of sugar
- a banana peel
- empty 2 liter bottle
- 1 glass of water
- string
How to do
1. In the empty bottle, put the white vinegar.
2. Add the sugar and stir well.
3. Cut the banana peel into small pieces.
4. Slip them into the bottle.
5. Add the glass of cold water.
6. Shake well again.
7. Tie the string around the neck.
8. Hang the bottle on a sturdy branch of your fruit tree.
Results
And There you go ! Your insect trap to protect your fruit trees is already ready :-)

The mixture of sugar and banana will attract the insects and trap them in the bottle.
You don't even have to buy commercial chemical insecticides or pheromone traps.
Additional advice
Once the trap has become exhausted, replace it, approximately every 10 days.
You can also place one at the base of your trees to catch non-flying insects, such as ants, for example.
If you have a small fruit tree, or with weak branches, take a small 1/2 liter bottle.
It will be less heavy on the branches, it is then sufficient to adapt the quantities.
Why does it work?
Bananas have a very strong smell that attracts insects. By decomposing in the vinegar and sweet liquid, it will be even more exacerbated.
Sugar also plays the role of bait, especially for fruit flies which are fond of it.
The vinegar strengthens the decomposition of the banana which will release its smell faster. It also attracts some midges.
