I don't know about you, but I love lemons.

I use it for almost everything at home!

They are refreshing and smell so good.

Not to mention that lemons have loads of health benefits.

A simple glass of lemon water in the morning helps me wake up and activate my digestive system for the day.

But like many people, I used to throw the lemon peel in the trash ...

Too bad, because lemon peel contains an array of vitamins, minerals and fiber such as calcium, potassium and vitamin C.

Fortunately, after long and fruitful research, I have selected for you 33 amazing uses of lemon peels.

With all these uses, you will never throw away lemon peels again!

If you can, choose organic and untreated lemons, because here we use the skin of the lemon. Look :

TO COOK

1. Frozen lemon zest

Lemon zest is an ingredient often used in sweet and savory dishes. Collect the zest from your lemon peels with this zester and freeze it for later.

2. Pepper with lemon

One of my favorite seasonings for grilling is lemon pepper. It is very easy to do. You need the zest of 4 lemons, salt and pepper.

4. Lemon sugar

Here is a great recipe that I will try this summer! Especially in my homemade lemonade, in yogurts and in my cocktails such as mojito. For this, you need the zest of a lemon, crystal sugar and a glass jar. The recipe here.

5. Olive oil with lemon

Give your olive oil a little exotic and slightly sour taste. Just steep the zest of a lemon in your bottle of olive oil. Check out the recipe here.

6. Lemon extract

Sometimes I'm amazed at the things you can do yourself, easily, and which in turn save a lot of money. To make lemon extract, you need the zest of 3 lemons and 20 cl of vodka-type alcohol. Check out the recipe here.

7. Lemon ice cubes

Add more flavor to your drinks by putting lemon slices in the ice water. Perfect for summer. Use a peeler like this to make long strips of bark. Avoid taking too much of the white part which is more bitter. Put the strips in the ice cube tray with water and freeze. If you have any bark left over, you can of course freeze it.

8. Butter with lemon zest

For this recipe, you will need: 3 generous pinches of fine herbs and herbs from Provence, 100 g of softened unsalted butter and 1 teaspoon of finely grated lemon zest. Mix everything together and salt lightly. Then transfer the mixture to baking paper, roll to form a cylinder. Then put in the fridge to solidify everything.

9. To keep brown sugar moist

Add a little lemon peel with a little white in brown sugar. This will retain its moisture and lightly perfume it.

10. A super effective lemon cleanser

Also known as "lemon vinegar", this trick is great for degreasing and sanitizing. To make it, just put a bunch of lemon peel in a glass jar. Pour white vinegar over it and put the lid on. Leave like this for 2 weeks, then strain the liquid. Add water in equal parts, and use on all surfaces.

11. Hunt ants and parasites

Place small slices of lemon zest along window sills, driveways, or near cracks and holes where ants hide. Ants do not like lemon and will not enter your home. It is also effective against cockroaches and fleas. Check out the trick here.

12. Deodorize the fridge

Place a lemon zest or two on a small cup in your fridge to absorb odors and add a citrus scent. Check out the trick here.

13. Deodorize the trash

Throw a few lemon peels in the bottom of the bin. They will absorb unpleasant odors and leave a pleasant scent in the room every time you open the trash.

14. Scent the house

Put lemon zest in a pot of simmering water and add a few cloves, cinnamon and orange zest. Not only is it a good air humidifier, but it also perfumes the whole house without chemicals and at a ridiculous cost.

15. Descale the kettle

To clean the mineral deposits in your kettle, fill it with water and add a handful of thin slices of lemon zest. Bring to a boil then turn off and leave to act for an hour. Then rinse the kettle.

16. Clean the coffee maker

To clean your coffee maker: add the lemon zest with ice and salt. Spin it around for a minute or two and then rinse it off.

17. Disinfects the cutting board

The natural acidity of lemon is a great antibacterial for cleaning the whole house. And in particular the wooden cutting board. After cleaning it properly, rub the surface with half a lemon. Let sit for a few minutes before rinsing. Check out the trick here.

18. Deodorizes the dishwasher

19. Cleans the microwave

Put the lemon peels in a bowl of microwave-safe water. Run the microwave on full power for 5 min, allowing the water to boil. Then leave the bowl in the microwave to take advantage of the vapors on the walls and top of the oven. Remove the bowl (be careful, it's hot!), Then wipe everything off with a damp sponge. 20. Can be used as a fire starter

Grill the lemon peels until they turn dark. They transform into perfect natural and scented fire starters. So cool for the grill season!

21. Deodorizes the closet

Dry your lemon peels either in the sun or in a dehydrator, then place them inside fabric pouches. Add spices like cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg or cardamom. Place the pouches in the drawers or closet to deodorize and smell good every time you open your closet and drawers.

22. Makes stainless steel and chrome shine

This is my favorite tip. I tried it on steak knife blades that had residue stuck tightly on them. To make them come off, just sprinkle salt on the metal and then use the lemon zest to remove any dirt, grime or stains. Rinse and wipe dry with a rag to shine. Check out the trick here.

24. As a facial scrub

This scrub will really strengthen your skin. You need salt and lemon rinds to form a paste. Gently rub your face and rinse. Check out the trick here.

25. Whitens nails

To whiten your stained or yellowed nails, simply rub them with the inside of the skin of a lemon wedge. Very simple and very effective. Check out the trick here.

26. Fight against motion sickness

Suck on a lemon slice to stop feeling sick and nausea in transport. It works equally well for the car, the train, the plane as the boat.

27. Reduces age spots

This grandma's remedy is super effective in reducing and lightening age spots. To do this, just use a lemon zest. Apply a small piece to the stained area and leave it on for 1 hour. Warning: avoid exposing yourself to the sun immediately after application.

28. Softens dry elbows

Use half a lemon sprinkled with baking soda and run it over your elbows. Simply place your elbow in the lemon and twist the lemon as if you were squeezing it with your elbow for several minutes. Rinse and pat dry. It also works for heels.

29. As a skin tonic

Lightly rub the lemon rinds all over your face for a good skin tonic then rinse. Just be careful not to get it in your eyes and don't go out in the sun afterwards.

30. As a sugar scrub for the skin

Mix 60 g of sugar with finely chopped lemon zest and add olive oil to make a paste. Wet your body in the shower, turn off the water and massage yourself with this homemade scrub. Rinse off and you will see that your skin will be very soft and smooth.

31. Softens rough feet

Boil the lemon peels for several minutes, then let cool completely and filter. Add 70 ml of cow's or almond milk, 2 tablespoons of cold pressed organic olive oil and a few drops of lemon essential oil. Soak your feet for about 20 min. Then dry yourself off. Your feet are now completely hydrated and very soft.

32. Lightens hair
