Pollen Allergy: 11 Little Effective Remedies for Less Suffering.

You can't stand sneezing, blowing your nose, itchy eyes, coughing and heavy fatigue?

You are not alone. That's the same for me.

I don't know about you, but for me the past year has been very rough due to pollen allergies.

I take medication (like Zyrtec) but it does not completely cure.

The treatment is not super effective ...

Red eyes from pollen allergies

And I am not alone. When spring arrives, and throughout the summer, nearly 18 million French people have to fight allergies.

Fortunately I have discovered a few remedies for my allergy that help me limit the symptoms every year.

Symptoms & causes of hay fever

Repeated sneezing, conjunctivitis (red eyes), runny nose, coughing fits, asthma, rhinitis are all symptoms that affect millions of French people.

It is often thought that the cause of hay fever is only the pollen that appears from the budding of trees and flowers.

This is partly true. But not only. For large cities (like Paris), it is also the pollution that clings to the pollen that makes allergies even stronger.

So what to do?

Natural home remedies to prevent

Headache from pollen allergies

Here are some natural home remedies that can limit allergic risks. They allow you to suffer less from hay fever.

Rosemary honey

In the morning, take 2 tablespoons of rosemary liquid honey.

You can also put olive oil on a handkerchief to breathe it during the day. This helps to clean your nose from infectious risks.

Essential oils

Essential oils such as lavender, chamomile, peppermint and tarragon are highly recommended for hay fever, so don't hesitate to get some to treat yourself.

Decoction of cornflower flowers

Sandrine had already told us about this remedy for itchy eyes. She advises to make a decoction of cornflower flowers and to apply with a cotton ball on the eyes.

Magnesium Chloride Cure

A good 3 week course of magnesium chloride is also an effective remedy. Celine is saying it here. She also advises homeopathic treatment with sabdilla and euphrasia officinalis.

3. Avoid smoking. Stay away from smokers as much as possible.

4. Do not dry your laundry outside, especially not in the evening.

5. Keep windows closed when driving.

6. Do not mow the lawn yourself. In case of gardening, imperatively wear a mask.

7. Wear sunglasses.

8. Do not rub your eyes.

9. Prefer essential oils to pharmaceutical remedies.

10. If itchy, take a lukewarm bath without adding anything to it.

11. Go outside at the right time. The weather plays an important role in the development of pollens and affects people with allergies like us. Know that after a downpour, it's time to go out.

If the weather is nice and dry, wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from pollen.
