KÄT: The First IKEA Sofa THAT CAN'T BE AWARE of Cat's Claws!

But IKEA customers can rejoice! They had suggested the Swedish giant to create furniture for pets for years.
IKEA finally responded to this demand by creating KÄT: a sofa / scratching post designed specifically for people who love furry animals.

The design of the IKEA KÄT sofa
The KÄT sofa has normal cushions for human comfort, but its structure is made from corrugated cardboard. This is perfect for felines who want to scratch ... your cat will be happy and so will you! Because it will no longer shred your furniture.
This sofa is made exclusively from cardboard. The boxes themselves come from trees in the far north of Sweden. Each tree used is carefully selected and treated. Every effort is made to use all the wood from each tree. So we don't waste any resources!
IKEA spokesperson Lykke Eklund says she believes the KÄT is the first sofa of its kind in the world. It was made after a year of studying how people live with their pets.
An announced success?
The company will be monitoring sales carefully in the coming months to examine demand. These results will be used to eventually develop other products to satisfy pets and their owners in the future.
While the KÄT has already been available in Japan since January, it will be sold in the United States this summer. I don't know about you, but we hope that this nifty sofa will soon be available in France!
