The trick to removing the musty smell from bath towels.
Do your bath towels smell bad? Do they have a stubborn musty smell?
This often happens if the wet towels did not come out of the washing machine quickly enough.
As a result, the humidity turns into mold and your towels stink ...
Luckily, we'll fix this together with white vinegar and baking soda:
How to do
1. Put your towels in the washing machine.
2. Choose the hottest washing temperature, 90 °.
3. Pour into the machine 2 cups of white vinegar. Do not add detergent or fabric softener.
4. Once the cycle is finished, restart a machine at 90 °, but this time with a 1/2 cup of baking soda (and nothing else).
5. As soon as the cycle is finished, dry your towels in the dryer or hang out in the sun.
Results
There you go, your towels smell clean again :-)
Before folding and storing them, bath towels must be completely dry. Otherwise the musty smell may reappear.
If it still doesn't, it could be mold in the washing machine. Remember to clean it regularly. Instructions are here.
Note that this trick also works for clothes, like swimsuits that haven't dried well after swimming.
But, in this case, do not wash at 90 °, respect the temperature indicated on your labels.
