Leaky faucet at home

1. Check the water meter

There is a simple trick to detecting if you have a water leak at home.

Before going to bed, turn off all taps and read the water meter. The next morning, before drawing water, check the numbers on the meter.

2. Check the flush

Flushing is very often the cause of water leaks. To find out if you have a leak or not, the trick is simple.

Put food coloring in the toilet tank to see if it shows up on the sides of the bowl.

Take a tour of all the taps in your home now to find that none are leaking.

Check the one in the bathroom, the one in the kitchen and even the one in the small hand basin in the toilet.

Stay 1 or 2 minutes in front to check that no drop escapes while it is tightly closed.

Also run your hand around the faucet to feel if there are no leaks on the seals.
